I understand the optimism, especially with McGahee's current status. That being said, I wouldn't exactly call Rice's first preseason game "fantastic."

"fantastic" may be overstating but here's the thing: I loved the way that Ray was lowering his pads and running through trash well. That's not reflected in the box score. Compare that performance to Kevin Smith who was dancing and looked tentative. That's what I mean by "fantastic".
