The Biden Response to Coronavirus (1 Viewer)

If you are unvaccinated, 55% of Democrats want to fine you, 59% want you confined to your home, 48% want you fined or imprisoned for questioning vaccine efficacy, 45% want you forced into "designated facilities," 46% want you digitally tracked, and 29% want to take your children.

It's the human/subhuman thing again.  Much like the Republicans did with Hispanic immigrants.  They aren't me or my family so #### em.   I WANT MY WAY!   It's absurd what this country has come too.  It's all in-group and out-group at this point.  Humanity is truly doomed.

Personally I think this problem is sorting itself out.

I went and looked at the Poll.  Sponsored by "The Heartland Institute"  Which is a free market "think tank."   I went to their website just now.  Here are some headlines from this totally nonpartisan "think tank"   I also like the "Don't Tread on Me" flag in their logo.  Totally not a dog whistle.

Being a Climate Change Alarmist Means Never Having to Admit you are wrong.
Australia's Giant Green Gamble on Solar Energy Toys.
Imagine Electric Vehicles In Bad Weather

This "think tank" seems to me like all the Pain Boards and Studies Purdue Pharma did to push Oxycontin on unsuspecting folks in the 1990s.

Or like democrats did with black people?

The difference between your statement and mine is that mine is based on facts and history.

You’re discounting a Rasmussen poll. The question wording is listed in the article -

Survey of 1,016 Likely Voters by Rasmussen Reports, LLC

January 5th, 2022

Do you have a very favorable, somewhat favorable, somewhat unfavorable or very unfavorable impression of Dr. Anthony Fauci?

Do you strongly favor, somewhat favor, somewhat oppose or strongly oppose President Biden’s plan to impose a COVID-19 vaccine mandate on the employees of large companies and government agencies?

Would you strongly favor, somewhat favor, somewhat oppose or strongly oppose a proposal for federal or state governments to fine Americans who choose not to get a COVID-19 vaccine?

Would you strongly favor, somewhat favor, somewhat oppose or strongly oppose a proposal to limit the spread of the coronavirus by having federal or state governments require that citizens remain confined to their homes at all times, except for emergencies, if they refuse to get a COVID-19 vaccine?

Would you strongly favor, somewhat favor, somewhat oppose or strongly oppose a proposal to limit the spread of the coronavirus by having federal or state governments require that citizens temporarily live in designated facilities or locations if they refuse to get a COVID-19 vaccine?

Would you strongly favor, somewhat favor, somewhat oppose or strongly oppose a proposal for federal or state governments to fine or imprison individuals who publicly question the efficacy of the existing COVID-19 vaccines on social media, television, radio, or in online or digital publications?

Would you strongly favor, somewhat favor, somewhat oppose or strongly oppose a proposal for federal or state governments to require unvaccinated citizens to use a smart phone app or wearable device that tracks unvaccinated people to ensure that they are quarantined or socially distancing from others?

Would you strongly favor, somewhat favor, somewhat oppose or strongly oppose a proposal to temporarily remove parents’ custody of their children if parents refuse to take the COVID-19 vaccine?

NOTE: Margin of Sampling Error, +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence

Do you pay taxes?
Man, some of you are hard to please.

You scream at Biden for not coming though on his promise for more testing availability. He finally comes through and you jump to "well, it's not really free".

I think the bigger issue should be the blanket "4 free tests" regardless of the size of your household. A family of 6 should get 6, and a family of two, should get two, IMO. Or you get 2 tests for everyone in your household sort of thing.

Biden can't win with this crowd no matter what he does.

I just pointed out they aren't "free".  Nothing the government gives you is "free".  Sure I'm happy I'm getting FREE tests from the government several weeks too late.

I'd rather save my tax money and buy these things when I need them though.

I do agree the portion should mirror your household size, but that's asking a lot of these guys.

Delivery is going to be a #### show for a PO that is running day to day anywhere from 50-70% staffing. As it is now regular delivery is being staggered to get packages done. It’s also going to cost a lot of OT

Well, that is nice that you (me aswell) have the freely available cash and time to track down tests. Not everyone is so lucky though. This seems like something that should have been done from day one of at home test availablity, IMO

I don't disagree on the availability issue.  Just annoyed with how poorly the rollout has gone.

This country literally had 500 million tests sitting in warehouses during a massive covid and cold/flu surge and people had no access to any of these tests.  This delay probably cost lives.

this administration has had 18 months to plan and strategize with a 50 years of experience leader guiding it all

what do you think the failure is ?

Previous guy would have delivered these tests to each home in the clutches of a Bald Eagle's talons, papered in the greatest gold leaf you have ever seen.

Let’s not compare the two administrations, they both have stunk. The criticism on the Biden on tests and masks is justified. I can give him a pass up until the Delta wave. The vaccine rollout went well and the summer looked like we would be past the worst of it. But when delta hit, we should have been taking the steps that are being taken now.

I will add in another major mistake was not pre-ordering the therapeutics leaving us waiting for drugs that could have a major impact on this current surge.

Apparently it's now ok to say natural immunity provided better protection against delta than the vaccine alone did after a certain study gets repeated in MSM.

I think it's kind of weird how dug-in people got on this particular issue given that there wasn't a lot of good data to go by.  Especially since most of us were trying to avoid acquiring natural immunity so it wasn't something we had anything to gain from anyway.

I don't think it was weird at all. I think it was an important discussion to be had for the vaccine passports and mandates that were being developed and natural immunity was completely ignored in the equation. Of course now the whole point is moot with Omicron because NI nor VI protected against Omicron infection.

Hang on - were NI and VI supposed to prevent infection?  Or prevent you from getting the worst of the virus (hospitalization, death, etc..)?

My assumption was that the vaccine is a lot like the regular flu shot - it protects you from getting the worst forms of the virus, not necessarily from getting the virus.

I think before Delta, the vaccine was intended to prevent infection.

Pre-Omicron, the correct message was always that vaccines:

  • Reduce the likelihood of infection
  • If infected, reduce the ability for infection to spread
  • Reduce the likelihood of a bad outcome (hospitalization, long-COVID, death)
Lots and lots of studies bore these statements out, in comparison between vax/unvax.  Studies were less definitive on comparisons between vax alone and previous infection alone, although I believe the results were less pronounced and more dependent on factors such as length of time since previous infection and vaccination.

You're deliberately being evasive with this crap and it disgusts me.

Remember your #1 bullet.

Reduce the likelihood of infection...BY 98%!!!!!!!  Interesting you leave that out.  98% effective in preventing covid  98%!!!!!!!!!!   Remember the J&J jab was only like 72%!!!!   Now to me, 98% means prevented except in VERY rare cases.  This clearly isnt the case.

This is simply distorting the truth and it is horrible on every possible level.   I' am disgusted that anyone would swallow this pill from the media, let alone share it.

To support your accurate recollection, here's a link

“Today is a great day for science and humanity. The first set of results from our Phase 3 COVID-19 vaccine trial provides the initial evidence of our vaccine’s ability to prevent COVID-19,” said Dr. Albert Bourla, Pfizer Chairman and CEO.
Not serious illness, not hospitalizations, not deaths.

"prevent Covid-19"

Pfizer is now leading the coronavirus vaccine race: The company announced Monday that people who received its two shots during the company's final stage of clinical trials were less likely to develop COVID-19. The results indicate the vaccine is more than 90% effective in preventing the disease.

Yes, it originally was very effective at preventing infection. It remained very effective until Omicron which saw significant vaccine evasion due to mutations to the spike protein the mRNA vaccines target. I’m not sure the point of this ‘gotcha’ is. The virus mutated and changed how effective the vaccine was in preventing positive cases. But positive cases aren’t the only end point for the vaccines. Prevention of hospitalizations, serious illness and death are much more important and the vaccines remain highly effective in prevention of those endpoints.

science DOES change - its often very wrong and its figured out and the mistakes, errors etc reversed

but anyone watching that top 10 knows sciences wasn't in a lot of decisions being made

That was always my point. "Follow the science" has always been used as a crutch for stupid policies.

top 10 things... must watch
"Embarrassed that people even put up with it"

Spot on, masks for 5 seconds until you get to your table and eating outdoors in plastic tents.

Annoying and WTF back then, hilarious now looking back.

There were several bars and restaurants that had roll up garage doors open but that wasn't as good enough as a completely sealed plastic tent when the state inspections come rolling through.  lol

liberals and Democrats swore to us we were saving lives .... and you're right, it looks so stupid now but truth is? it was stupid then too there was no science behind it

billionaires made billions, lower income people got poorer - we can thank left in many many ways for that :(
