Lynch-Jackson Duo Shows Promiseby Chris Brown, Lead Journalist Last Updated: 12/10/2007 10:35 AM ETWith 1:38 remaining in a game that was heavily favoring the Bills, Marshawn Lynch while standing on the sideline waved Fred Jackson over to him from the huddle during Miami's third and final timeout. Lynch, who had already rumbled for 107 yards on the ground, had a few words of encouragement for Fred Jackson who had 93 yards rushing."I told him to go get his money man," said Lynch. "He knew what time it was."On the next play Jackson picked up a first down on 3rd-and-4 that would allow Buffalo to kill the clock in their 38-17 victory over the Dolphins. By the end of the game Jackson had 115 rushing yards marking the first time the Bills had a pair of backs each crack the century mark in the same game. The last duo to turn the trick was Thurman Thomas (107) and Darick Holmes (122) against Washington in 1996."Going in we wanted to run it," said head coach **** Jauron. "We thought we could run it. We ran it really effectively with both Fred and Marshawn."While the idea of a one-two running back punch with Jackson and Lynch seems like a new discovery, it's something that both backs have discussed with each other for a while. "That's that two-headed monster that we've been talking about me and Fred," said Lynch. "It's always great to have somebody on the side where you don't have to worry if he's going to make the plays and go out there and play freely."Jackson never really had an extended opportunity until Lynch went down with a high ankle sprain. The Division III product always felt like he could make a difference, but knew he had to wait for opportunity to finally knock."It's definitely tough because you want to be out there and you want to help your team," said Jackson. "We had some struggles at times. So it was definitely tough, but I knew I had to wait my turn and I knew once I got my chance I had to take advantage of it. So I was able to make some plays in the first couple of games I got in and we'll where it goes from now."Where it sounds like its going is a true two-back tandem that both Lynch and Jackson envisioned."We like this," said Jauron. "We really like this. We were talking about it coming in and the way it worked there's no reason why wouldn't stay with this."
