Happy Father's Day to all my good buddies out there. Whatcha got planned on this fine day?

Got up at 4 am to smoke a pork shoulder

Having my dad and wife's dad over to enjoy it

So between now and dinner i plan to loaf around and drink beer while my wife tends to the childrens

Spending the day trying to figure out how I get myself into this situation in the first place.

Just kidding. Smoking some salmon and doing some yard work. Currently drinking some coffee and enjoying the quiet part of my day outside on the patio, listening to some Eagles and some Sturgill Simpson. 2 kids under 2 here.

ETA: now that I am 18+ months into fatherhood, I understand the sacrifice that goes into raising children and have a much greater appreciation for what my mother and father provided for me; I hope my son and daughter feel the same way some day.

Catching up on some yardwork after about 10 hours of little league baseball activities yesterday, then probably heading to the local mini-golf/batting cages/other fun stuff for the kids establishment, because as the kids told me "Dad's golf free and get a free ice cream today".

I am suspect this trip will be more for them than me, but hey...that's what this whole deal's about anyway, right?

...and I wouldn't have it any other way.

The family is taking me to see a AAA game where Bernie Williams will be singing the National Anthem and they let fathers and sons onto the field before the game to play catch.

I also got a card with a bald eagle on the front. Inside it says, "This reminded me of you, Dad. Happy father's day, baldy!"

I fully expect an e mail any time now saying I have 2 paid entries into the OMEGA FFL. I have been getting this PERFECT present for about 5 or so years now. It is without doubt the absolutely best gift ever.

First I would be scrambling for an entry every year when I choose the leagues I want to join and have to pay for it myself. My son's turned me on to FFB and participate with me every year. We talk several times a week about FFB, which leads to other things. What Father could ask for anything better than passionately talking to your children in a happy connected way.

As they say-I am no **** Vermeil-. FFB has opened the lines of communication between us in apossitive way. I love Fathers day, I love my family nad I love FFB for all it has given me.

I f you are fortunate enough to still have father alive,tell him you love him.

Steak and shrimp shish-kabobs on the grill. A few kids and grandkids over for the cookout, some Oriole Baseball on TV, and a few good brews. Maybe a dip in the pool, a bit cool today for that. Beautiful weather here. What could be better?

Im totally jealous although I had some mudbugs on my bday last month.

My kids got me a new camp stove with the works to go with my new 6 person tent we are trying out in a few weeks. Hitting the pool and having family over later cause my New Orleans girl is making me roast beef po boys for dinner (lots of debris).

we have some friends staying with us from colorado. ready for WC (schweiz vs ecuador) while having banana pancakes and roesti for breakfast. then going a little north to play around the russian river... canoes, paddle boast, jet skis, etc. going to do a family father's day next weekend...also my father's 75th b-day.
