I'm trying to think up a witty response to this but I just feel sorry for your loss. Hope you make it through flap.Have still never seen either one.
Scarface - the whole quotable "say hello to my little friend" thing.I have some sort of mental block where I'm always mildly surprised to remember its Pacino in the first two. Its seriously like a completely different person than the 'modern' over the top characterization version of him. He was excellent in the first two.
When/why did he turn into a cartoon? Was its slowly, or did it happen all at once? I was too young to have seen all his stuff as it came out.
Roth was patterned after Meyer Lansky, much like Moe Green was patterned after Bugsy Siegel.I could tell you every bit of the plot of I, with all.the intrigue, who tried to kill who and why, what you were supposed to think at this point in the movie all of it. I still don't totally get the hymen Roth story.
Steve obviously ####ed herThis and the "Camping Trip Getting Too Friendly" polls are the only ones I've never voted in. Impossible to answer.
All of the DeNiro stuff in Godfather 2 is great. It would have been perfect if they had used Clemenza instead of Pentangeli. The scene with Tom and Frank is just brilliant.Godfather II...the killing of Don Fanucci was awesome. the whole going back to 1917 scene with DeNiro is great. Cuba, Roth, Fredo Corleone working for the 'bad guys',conspiring against the Family, Tahoe, everything.it was just a fantastic movie from beginning to end.
like Empire Strikes Back,it too was better than the original.
Thank you sir.GF is on AMC, followed by GF II.
I hear ya. I have the DVDs and rarely watch them. But it's somehow must-see when it's on TV.Thank you sir.GF is on AMC, followed by GF II.
Although, I could probably stop being lazy and just put the DVD's in. The only thing longer than The Godfather, is the The Godfather with commercials
I haven't looked up the times, but I assume II will end just about when the sun is coming up.GF is on AMC, followed by GF II.
The cat in the opening scene used to hang around the studio, and was simply dropped in Brando's lap at the last minute by the director.
The startling scene of McCluskey's shooting was accomplished by building a fake forehead on top of actor Sterling Hayden. A gap was cut in the center, filled with fake blood, and capped off with a plug of prosthetic flesh. The plug was quickly yanked out with monofilament fishing line, making a bloody hole suddenly appear in McCluskey's head.
That's how it was done in the old days. Take that CGI. Now how'd they do Moe Green? The cat in the opening scene used to hang around the studio, and was simply dropped in Brando's lap at the last minute by the director. The startling scene of McCluskey's shooting was accomplished by building a fake forehead on top of actor Sterling Hayden. The shooting of Moe Greene through the eye was inspired by the death of gangster Bugsy Siegel. To achieve the effect, actor Alex Rocco's glasses had two tubes hidden in their frames. One had fake blood in it, and the other had a BB and compressed air. When the gun was shot, the compressed air shot the BB through the glasses, shattering them from the inside. The other tube then released the fake blood. That's how it was done in the old days. Take that CGI. You can sort of tell by how the glass seems to crack from the inside out. When the gun was shot, the compressed air shot the BB through the glasses, shattering them from the inside.
That sucks.Have still never seen either one.![]()

"... and if I ever need any guidance, who's a better consiglieri than my father?"If Tom wasn't a bad Consigliere, why was he cut out? Not Sicilian?

What a weird coincidence, this being on page 1.2 is on right now. So so good.
