Article claiming Idiocracy promotes eugenics and we should be ashamed for liking it.

At first I scoffed at the idea but there is some validity to the way the movie is presented at the beginning.

It's not genetics that will move us toward Idiocracy, it's poor parenting and an anti-intellectual culture (something overblown IMO but we do have that element).

The poor and uneducated do have larger families. This movie does look like the future of this country in many ways. I will say that it would be the only way I would become a customer of Starbucks

I don't see the premise that article describes in the actual movie, at all. If anything it is anti corporate and anti mass media. It's also just plain funny, try to laugh and not take it so seriously.

Yeah well the truth often isn't politically correct.The movie never suggests eugenics is the solution. It simply gives a humorous (and hopefully exaggerated) take on where society is headed. The evidence is everywhere and undeniable. But more than anything, it's just a hilarious movie.

seriously, the author totally misunderstands and misinterprets the fundamental premise of the movie, not to mention takes an overly serious approach to the so-called message of the movie. At no point does it suggest that things should be different. It just takes the idea "what if human society gets dumber instead of smarter?" and plays it out in a comedic way.
