Had a little get together last night and grilled some burgers. If anyone is grilling The Picnic Basket has some great fresh pre-made burgers. The butcher makes his own blend. Just the perfect amount of fat for great flavor. Everybody was raving about how good they were. For those in the Plymouth-Canton-Northville area check this place out. Great chili as well.

You know, I’ve probably driven past this place a thousand times and never knew what exactly it was. I will definitely check this out. The weird thing is, I couldn’t find anything on their website that mentioned the burgers… am I just completely missing it?Unfortunately, my typical entertainment is more in line with goonsquad’s Sesame Street post than the real fun stuff, so I can’t contribute much there. I can confirm that the Henry Ford and Greenfield Village are great. The HF has the Titanic exhibit running through September, and it is extremely well done. Definitely worth seeing. As far as food, for those in the Plymouth-Canton-Northville area: I did try the new Real BBQ place in Canton recently (http://www.realbarbq.com/canton/ ). I wasn’t blown away. I didn’t hate it, I just didn’t think it tasted all that great. I’m willing to try it again, but want to give them a little time to work the kinks out.

The Picnic Basket is pretty good, it is like a high end party store with a deli, pizza and baked goods. My favorite restaurant in the area is Table 5 in Northville. It pricey and high end, but the food is excellent. It is perfect for special date or small important business meeting.

Yea, heard this on wjr wwj and a drive bye caller on drew and mike. The guy said it was a black cavileir the guy was wearing a brown knit hat. Cops where turning his car over and he passed 3 more cop cars heading to the scene.

When I get time I am going to post all the restaurants from your thread in this thread. There is a few that I have never tried and want to.Also I saw Fifty Amp Fuse at the Uptown Grille in Commerce on Sat night..dam these guys/gals are good!

royal oak is yuppie city, tons of bars and restaurants, good eye candy too. younger crowd mostly but to be honest I have been out that way in a long time, but you will be safe there

City Lovers Guide to America's Most Under Rated City. My wife and I were down at the DAC for a charity event last night. Pulling out, the city (in that area) really looks amazing. We took Madison to John R. and left on Woodward to the water front. They already have lights in the trees on Woodward and Jefferson and they rink was open in Campus Martis. I also noticed a Moose Jaw open on Woodward just above Compuware. Its a little thing, but prior to the Superbowl, every building in that area was left for dead.

It's a toxic relationship, but one us Detroiters have a passion for.

Agree it depends on who you ask and their race.

I would say most would agree Lions are #1, Tigers are next, Wings/Pistons depend on a lot on race and where you grew up in the state.

For me it's Lions, Pistons, Tigers. and pretty much everything else unless it's the Stanley cup. That's the only time I'll watch the Wings.

No question in my mind that the D is a football town. Crazy because we're talking one playoff win in our LIFETIME for virtually anyone below retirement age.

Tigers have had some very special moments. Year of the Tiger, one summer removed from the riots. The Bird. The 35-5 Bless you, boys. Right now. But as much as I love baseball, the level of passion is not the same.

Ironically, the teams with the most relative success (7 world championships) are a distant 3rd/4th. I love playoff hockey but the appeal is not as broad or deep. Ditto for the Pistons.

Yeah, this is a fanatical sports town. As horrific as the Lions have ALWAYS been, they have a HUGE loyal following/fan base. Through the lean years, the Tigers, to some extent the Red Wings, and especially the Pistons have issues drawing fans, but the Lions sell out nearly every game. When the Lions went 0-16, it was also the leanest year economically around here so there were a couple non-sellout crowds, but for the most part, they draw extremely well. When ANY of the Detroit teams is even just decent, they draw like hotcakes (except maybe the Pistons... but that could just be that the NBA sucks).

I personally bailed on the Lions when I was a kid, but I'm still a bandwagon jumper when they show promise, and certainly root for them every year even though they are not "my team". I live and die by the Tigers and to a slightly lesser extent the Red Wings. Couldn't care less about the Pistons.
