SUPER ELITE UPPER TIER
Back in November, I went on the NHL website and purchased a Ducks shirt that my daughter liked. When I bought it, at the very end it asked if I wanted to receive special promotions to be emailed to me. 99 out of 100 times, I will always say no. But for some reason I thought, "What could it hurt to see NHL stuff on sale." This was a horrible decision on my part.
The next morning, I got an email from them that said, "How about a sweatshirt to go with that t-shirt?" First thing I thought was, "Well, that seems a little aggressive in their sales pitch." Less than 24 hours after my purchase they're already trying to sell me more crap. And not even at a discount or sale price. It bothered me, but I figured that's what I get for saying yes to emails.
The next morning, I get the same email. Now I'm pissed. So I click on the link to unsubscribe to the email and enter my reason in. It comes back and says, "Sorry to see you go. Your email has been removed from our list. Please give 24 to 48 hours for it to take effect."
So the next three days, at 7 am exactly, I continue to get the same email. "How about a sweatshirt to go with that t-shirt?" On day 4, I go back under the email and click unsubscribe to remove my email. Success! Or at least that's what it said. But after another week of every day being asked "How about a sweatshirt to go with that t-shirt?" nothing is changing.
I finally go to the NHL site and find a way to contact them. They reply back to me the next day and apologize for the emails. He says that he's gone in and removed my email address. Another week of emails at 7 asking "How about a sweatshirt to go with that t-shirt?"
I reply back to the support email and they say, "Sorry. We've escalated the problem." And then I never hear back from them. And by them, I mean support. Because each morning I still hear from them asking "How about a sweatshirt to go with that t-shirt?"
So last week I emailed them back and said it's still occurring. They apologized and said it's been removed. I reply right back and say, "I doubt that. I've been told it's been removed several times and it never is."
I get a reply back, "Sorry to hear that. Now it's removed."
As of today at 7 am, I am still getting an email everyday asking "How about a sweatshirt to go with that t-shirt?"
Is there anyway I can get this to stop? Sure, I could just set up a rule to have it sent to Junk, but it's much further than that, now. Now I'm pissed and I feel like doing that would be admitting defeat. Any advice on what I can do now?
