The North Pond Hermit - story in GQ (1 Viewer)

Caught this yesterday and thought it was a pretty interesting read. The "North Pond Hermit" was this guy who lived in the woods for 30 years and survived by pilfering food, fuel, and supplies from homes and cabins. He may have mild Aspberger Syndrome and read a lot of Kipling. He was finally caught last year and prosecuted, and after a 7 month sentence he's "free" - but is he really?:
