1974 was the only year from the 70s to not make the list.

The 80s surprisingly had 3 years make the list (I am firmly entrenched in the camp that the 80s is where music went to die - but I also love me some camp hair metal, so, uhh... I dunno)

Grunge was the only thing about the 90s to make the list.

Is anyone surprised that a year from the 00s or 10s didn't make the cut? I figured that being more recent would garner some votes based simply on that.

P.S. there are Spotify playlists for each year at the above link.

Actually being more recent usually is a deterrent in these kinds of polls because recency snobs can't fathom any good music happening after xxxx year.

When I went to actually make playlists I found I like '68, '67, & '70 all better than '69. '66 not too shabby either as the early forms of modern heavy rock started coming together.

1980 is underrated

1971has the greatest albums for me. Hard to believe how many of my favorite albums come from that year (but then, classic rock and 70s singer songwriter are probably my two favorite genres).

We had this argument at work a few months ago. '69 is fantastic, but I think '71 is the best. Who's Next, Sticky Fingers, Zep IV, Fillmore East.

'77 and '78 are awesome.

Big fan of both '66 & '80.
