The NY Giants are better than... (1 Viewer)

Good call. The Giants were so schizo for most of the year, but they've been bringing their "A" game every week now for a month, and they are now a win away from the Super Bowl.

Look let's be real here. There are 4 teams that can win the Super Bowl. Every other team is just a pretender, joker what ever else you want to add.The 4 teams are in this order1.Saints2.Ravens(If they get that #2 seed if not they go to #4) 3.Green Bay4.PittsburghThat's it folks.
Spoken like a Dallas Fan
What ever that means. Ya wanna bet who wins I get them 4 you get the rest of the bums that are left. Just tellen it like it is. Sorry you are still looking through your homer glasses. Didn't say I would not be rooting for the Cowboys so really what does this comment mean. I know the Giants are going to win the Super Bowl right LOL.

If they play their "A" game (a very big if) they are better than (and their "A" game):

[*]Anyone in the AFC, Maybe not the Steelers

[*]Anyone in the NFC East

[*]Anyone in the NFC West

[*]Anyone in the NFC South, besides NOR

[*]Anyone in the NFC North, besides the Packers

and I could see them easily missing the playoffs.
No. Just no.
WOW the Giants just are not very good. You are what your record says you are 15 games in. This thread is simply incredible. The Giants are going know where this year, A game or not.

I would say 49ers at 5, forgot them. It is easy to do. They have a small chance. The Pats are pretenders that defense is horrible, I mean horrible. They are going no where.
:lmao:

Does the other team have to play their B game? What if the Patriots play their A+ game?
If you read the thread from the title down you would have your answer. What is an A+ game, equivalent to playing 110% :lmao: . For most of this season the Giants were losing their games because of their poor play, not because they weren't a good team; once they righted their ship, if you will, they were an elite, well-balanced team that wasn't getting their respect - I was just pointing that out. :banned:

also injuries. They had a ton.

I was saying that, too, but everyone jumps on with "every team has injuries"; well there are injuries and then there are key injuries. The balanced approach that the Coughlin employs, from his days with Parcells, makes this team very, very, good. I am also LMAO at one of the poster, in one of my other threads, saying that a team playing Parcells' ball, in today's NFL, can't win.

I hadn't seen this thread until today. I kept wincing every time I read one of Mustang Man's posts. Wow. :bag:

I'd appreciate it if he could stop on in and predict there's no way the Giants can beat NE in the Super Bowl

Yep, I am bumping this, before the game. It is all posted here, so we'll see what goes down.
Looks like a Giant fan pulling for his team, posting about it and getting lucky.A 9n7 team is not better than a lot of teams, just was hot late.
Steelers are my team but I do live in the Giants territory (Patriots too); Pretty weak commentary by you though. I thought that I made definitive statements in this post and they turned out, for the most part, correct; the reasons I made the post are included above also.

I still don't think they beat the packers on their A Game, great team though...
I agree and I don't think they beat NOR in N.O. either.
Stop it people. For one, the Giants did beat the Packs - and who is to say the Pack was not on their A game BECAUSE of the Giants aggressive D? Really, this is silly.Could GB or NO beat the Giants? Sure. Would NO have? It's possible - but no one gave the Giants a chance in Green Bay either, and SF took down NO, albeit at home (but great weather for NO).It's scoreboard. Its the most clutch QB out there right now and a defense that is well suited to take apart even the best passing attacks.

Heard on radio on the drive to work (no link):

If the Super Bowl was to be replayed this weekend, Vegas would list the Patriots as 2.5 point favorites.

The Giants would also be underdogs to the Packers and the Saints if they were to meet on a neutral field on Sunday 2/12.

:loco:

Giants have DL that can put some awesome pressure on the opposing QB. That masks deficiencies elsewhere on D. Their offense is very efficient. They're beatable, quite beatable, but it's not easy. They seem like they'll be very good in a year or two, just not now.

I don't know if you have followed the thread or not but the above replies are to earlier posts. I was on the record saying that the Giants couldn't beat GNB "A" game; I did think that GNB played good in that game but not their best. I would also say that I think that on that Sunday, that the game the Giants played was going to beat any game that GNB brought. I have seen the Giants play NOR now a few times, over the last several years, and I can say with confidence that their was no way the Giants go into N.O. and win a game this season.

Giants would have a hard time with NO. Sproles, Thomas and Graham would force the Giants to keep players in the middle of the field since they can't cover those guys with a single player. That means Colston would be in single coverage. Brees fast release negates most pass rushes. Also the Giants defense have trouble with teams that have a fast paced offense.

Did you miss the game last night where they decapitated and debacled those very same Patriots?

Decapitated? Maybe not. It was only 4 points. But whatever you think with the exaggerations...

I sure didn't see that game. I saw a close game between two teams where fantastic QB play fueled a great comeback-- just like four years ago.But don't kid yourself-- if Welker makes that catch talk radio would be annointing Brady best of all time. That was the difference between winning and losing. Nothing like a decapitation imo, regardless of what some Giants say.

While not a decapitation, I also dont think Welker making that catch ices anything. Sure, it gets a lot more difficult for the Giants, but this team, and Manning in particular, is as good as we have seen in recent times regarding late game comebacks. I'd suggest in this regard, he is better than even Brady.Let's not act like there was one min left with that catch, there was still some time.We will never know, of course - because Manning had a little extra time and if anything wanted to kill more of it before the Giants scored.

The best team over the entire 19-20 game regular and postseason doesn't get the Lombardi Trophy. And this isn't something new. All 32 teams know how the champion is determined. The Giants were fortunate that their regular season inconsistency did not exclude them from the playoffs. However, they don't need to apologize for defeating 15-1, 14-3, and 15-3 teams consecutively to win the championship. It is now five times in the past seven teams that the Super Bowl champion has not had a bye:2005: Steelers (#6)2006: Colts (#3)2007: Giants (#5)2010: Packers (#6)2011: Giants (#4)The Steelers, Packers and this year's Giants barely made the playoffs, and while it's fair to state that in a BCS-type fashion, they weren't the best teams in a season-long analysis, that doesn't matter in the NFL, so long as you make the post-season. One common thread from those three teams that barely made the postseason is significant injuries during the regular season. When you factor in the injuries, these runs don't seem as fluky as they might as first appear to be.

You're preaching to the choir here. If you knew so much how come you didn't start this thread during the regular season, like I did? I saw how the Giants went through DAL and NYJ and knew they had turned the corner. I agree with your point about injuries but I've already made it up near the beginning posts of this thread. Only one other poster agreed with me when the thread first went up and even some Giants homers were dismissing it. As I have posted elsewhere, in this thread, the thought that DET wanted their path to go through NY seemed crazy to me. Anyway all my prescient knowledge resulted in exactly $0 for me; so much for the courage of my convictions (I don't even know how to place a bet).
