The Official 2011 Boston Red Sox Thread (1 Viewer)

Trade deadline coming up, what moves should Theo make?

- Still need a 7th inning arm. I'd love to see Morales take it, but I'm not excited to see him out there in a late and tight game.

- Release Drew and let Reddick play on an every day basis.

- Get Matt Garza from the Cubs

Matt Garza's going nowhere.

Definitely need to get Reddick in there everyday, but get rid of McDonald, not Drew. He still hits better than McDonald (as I think all of New England does). Drew can be a good backup at this point. Of course, the NY rumor mill of Beltran coming to the Sox has started....... :hophead:

And yes, we may need several arms if Lester, Beckett, & Buckhotz don't recover. Luv the 'O'!!! And I don't either know what Gregg was thinking when he motioned Big Papi to move on to first......that was just plain stupid....... :boxing:

It will be interesting to see this replay of Marco Scutaro throwing his bat after popping up here in the 11th.

Odds are it will warrant some 'stay classy' comments.

Gotta love the way baseball players take care of business by following "the code"...

Scutaro apologizes. Doesn't matter. Two fastballs later whizzing past his ear and it's all forgotten.

Fun game last night.

btw, forget about a platoon, forget about Drew, forget about Beltran. Make Reddick the everyday right fielder.

Lazer Show, FTW

Pedroia continues to be locked in at the plate, extending his season-high hitting streak to 15 games. He finished the night 3-for-7 and is hitting .384 (25-for-65) during the streak.

Pedroia OPS June 1.010

Pedroia OPS July 1.306

Buddy was at the game last night in Tampa. He's looking rough at work today in Memphis. Had to catch at 6am flight out.

Will be at Fenway Saturday Night. Think we're pregaming between Boston Beerworks (Private room rented) and Baseball Tavern (got a hookup on super-cheap beverages and I think we've got the roof deck blocked off.

We'll be the exceptionally rowdy crew in Lower Bleachers Sec 42. Stoked to see a bunch of family and friends that I've not seen in a while...

Just got confirmation... a family friend has a contact in Fenway security. We'll be meeting him at a gate at 4:30 to head into the stadium for a tour of the grounds, dugouts, locker rooms, etc. I can only assume we'll be interacting with the players at that time. Picked up 2 nice wood bats and 4 official MLB balls to bring along JIC. Iv'e got a pretty nice Sox memorabilia wall going in my home office and it would be nice to add a couple elements to it. If everything shakes out I might be hitting the clubhouse/onfield tour of both Fenway and Yankee stadium within 2 months of each other this year :excited:

Icon, that's pretty sweet. Take photos. Pay whatever you need to if it means you get behind the Monster

It will be free. I will actively campaign to get behind the monster though...count on that. We'll be snapping photos like *** tourists. Bringing the GF's Digital SLR with me. REALLY hoping to get into the locker room while the players are in there (but clothed) or to watch BP from the field.

This is the shirt I'll be wearing that day

Looking very much like we're headed for another epic Yanks/Sox meeting in October.

I guess the goal at this point is to avoid Texas in the first round.

Back from the trip.

Had free tickets for thursday night but the couple we were staying with didn't wanna go so they turned them down :hot:

Sat we hit beerworks for some brews, the baseball tavern where we got hooked up with an open tab(View from Roof deck).

Was suposed to be meeting head of security at Fenway at 4:30... but the dude who was hooking us up ran late. didn't get into the park till 5:30. Due to the sox wrapping BP we werent' allowed into the locker rooms :sadbanana: but we did get to chill on the field during BP.

Chilling behind the cage

Ground Level Shot

NESN Doing their thing pregame

Seats : Pretty solid for Bleachers

Game was great. Beckett... Bard...Papelbon. Dirty Water :banned:

Yesterday we bounced around the city. Hit the North End for some Cannoli. Tested Mikes vs Modern.... Mikes won. Lighter/flakier/tastier.

Jacoby now has as many HRs and Agone
Ellsbury is under the Sox control thorough 14 and I'm expecting him to be history after that (Boras clients rarely sign before the market). Simply devastating 1-6, especially if/when Crawford gets on his groove. WAR Pedroia 5.6Gonzalez 4.9Ellsbury 4.6Youk 3.9Papi 2.6OPS+Gonzalez 162Papi 158Youk 141Ellsbury 141Pedroia 139

Hey Sawx fans, looking for some inside info. I'm hearing that they maybe looking into acquiring ubaldo, or one starter at least. Any rumors on what prospects are being talked about being involved? I could pick up the minor leaguer, and if he gets traded for Ubaldo or a NL stud then I would acquire that pitcher for my minor leaguer. Any info would be appreciated.

Huge trade. Bedard solidifies them for a playoff run.
it was a good move and i wish the yankees made it but i wouldnt call it huge. the guys gotta stay healthy and pitch effectively which he hasnt done in quite awhile other than one month this yr. plus hes a bit of a headase

 He had 83 innings of fantastic ball in 2009 a pretty good 81 innings in 2008, and a fantastic 268 innings in 2006-2007.He defnitely cant stay healthy, but he has been pretty damn good when he was healthy.
