The Pack Is Back? (1 Viewer)

I'll admit I didn't foresee a 3-0 start to the season. But there's no question the Packers are playing well right now. As Favre said after the SD game it's hard to luck yourself into three straights in this league. The defense is playing well and Favre is playing at an MVP level. The return of Greg Jennings was huge this week as it gives the Packers more depth and talent at WR but also a receiver who can stretch defenses and make big plays downfield.

The primary concerns remain the lack of a running game and the overall youth of the team. With youth often comes mistakes and the inability to run the ball at a consistent level could become a more significant issue as the season goes along.

But through three weeks things are looking real good. Next up are the Vikings and this is a very winnable game. Minnesota has a standout run defense and a strong running game but its passing attack is pathetic. If the Packers sell out to stop the run like they did against Tomlinson they should put themselves in a position to win the game. The key is to continue to play error-free football because the Vikings are an aggressive defense which will force turnovers.

At 3-0, the Packers are an early season surprise story. Can they make it four straight in a place where Favre has historically struggled (though he's been better there in recent seasons)?

They are back, but not all the way back. They won't be able to hang all season with no rushing attack to speak of.

My memory could be faulty but didn't New England do the same thing (short passing instead of running) a few years ago and win the Super Bowl. And that was before the no touchy rule.

The Patriots' 2003 Super Bowl champion ranked 27th in rushing. Conversely, they were No. 1 defensively in points allowed and Top 5 in several other defensive categories.

Ironically having no run game will hurt little agianst the Vikes who can't stop the pass, but dominate the run.

I think they get to 4-0.

i think they're back as well......at least in terms of making the playoffs and winning their division. The reason is because they are playing defense. No longer are they swiss cheese.

I know many are attributing that to Farve not gunslinging everything and making mistakes but many times he did those things because they were either behind or he may have thought they couldn't hold the lead and he always had to make a play.

That's not the case. I am somewhat concerned about the lack of running game but they do have a couple guys over there doing the job in different parts of that game.

I know most would say Dallas is No.1 in the NFC and Green Bay NO. 2. I guess Dallas deserves it after last night but I'm not so sure if Dallas is better than Green Bay or not. It would be a tough game. I've liked what I've seen out of Green Bay so far this year.

The Packers keep on rolling. Now 4-0 and in control of the NFC North.

Today's victory is dedicated to Minnesota head coach Brad Childress. We want to thank Brad for keeping his best offensive player on the sidelines so often today and during so many critical moments of the game. The Packers could not have won without you Brad.

Signed,

Packers fans everywhere

I know this will :bag: most of you.. but I'll be cheering the Pack on next week..

Would love to see the pre-season favorite to go to the super bowl for the NFC go 1-4 :headbang:

Sucks to be 1-3 as a Viking fan.. But at least our expectations were low. Must be worse to be a Bear fan right about now.
