The Pick Value Calculator (1 Viewer)

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before or not, but I started thinking of something and decided to try it out. For those of you that haven't seen it, the pick value calculator can be found here

So, I decided to put in all the picks I could for a specific draft spot and then for another and compare. The obvious ones to start with were the 1 spot vs. the 12 spot. I came up with an interesting result. I haven't gone further with this yet but will when I get a bit more time but thought I would post these preliminary results to see if anyone wants to chime in with any insight on this before I go on.

When putting in 16 rounds of picks from the 1 spot (#1 overall, #24, #25, #48, #49, etc.) I get a total value of 6475.

When putting in 16 rounds of picks from the 12 spot (#12 overall, #13, #36, #37, etc), I get a total value of 6100.

That's a difference of 375 or roughly 5%. Now, I know it may not seem like a huge difference, but it seems significant enough to me if that pick calculator is fairly accurate that the difference in drafting spots could make a difference.

I plan on putting in the picks for a few other draft spots and comparing (i.e., more draft spots in a 12 team league and some in a 14 team league as well) to see if I get similar results. Just curious if this is just a discrepancy in the calculator itself or if there is truly a difference in drafting spot.

Let me add that I'm expecting to see arguments for the 3rd round reversal and it actually has merit. Plugging in the difference between pick #25 vs. #36 is a difference of 186. When you subtract from one side and add to the other, it will cut that 375 difference down to a total of 3, or about DEAD EVEN.

Not sure how it fits with other draft spots, but I find that quite interesting.

the value of the #1 pick is quite high. It's probably right...I'm just saying I think that might be what you're seeing

This seems pretty intuitive IMO. Think about what you'd want for LT/ADP. Most of the time you won't be able to acquire either without giving up a top 10 RB and a good WR. Almost precisely what you'd get with the 1.12 and 2.1; after the 3rd round, I personally don't see a big difference between the 1st and 12th picks in most rounds.
