Guns are but a tool among many for a person to express their anger. I believe the real problem lies within the society we live in that causes this kind of hatred.

What is the real problem here and how can we fix it?

If you want to know why society has hatred, start a thread on that.  You’ll get people to speak to religion, philosophy, science and they will keep the focus on that.

But by bringing guns into the thread, you’re showing that you want it to be political.  

There is no good argument for “your side” on the political side of things.  Currently man is violent and has been throughout recorded history.  Giving violent man the EASY access to automatic weapons is a recipe for mass shootings on a scale worse than what we currently see in the US today.  The only reason we don’t see more, imo, is that the economy is going great for the most part, and most people don’t want to die or go to jail (which usually happens to people who commit these heinous crimes)

This is just the resounding failure of the “war on drugs” applied to firearms.

I think we can both agree that getting a thug with a gun of the street is a far more worthwhile pursuit than getting a stoner with a dime bag into a prison cell, right?

Guards armed with assault weapons at every school and large public event to discourage and return fire when necessary. 

Would "getting shot back at" discourage school shootings?

Dont most of these guys end up killing themselves eventually anyway? I know very few make it out alive, but not sure if its suicide or law enforcement arriving and getting them.

Regardless of feasibility, I am not sure if this would help or not...

It's not about getting shot back at.  It's removing the "Safe zones" that these guys target for getting multiple victims easily.
