Welcome to The Real College Football Playoff - the most realistic fantasy college football experience available. Every aspect of this league has been designed to mimic a real college football season as closely as possible.
After an incredibly successful first season, the The Real CFP will be expanding from 48 teams to 56 teams (4 conferences with 14 teams apiece). Every owner runs two teams - one in the East and one in the West. Teams play once against every other team in their conference during the 13-game regular season.
The top three finishers in each conference advance to the 12-team playoffs, with the four conference winners earning first round byes.
14 weeks total (10 regular season weeks - each team has three scheduled double-headers - and 4 postseason weeks), so no need to go into real-life bowl season.
The league uses an immersive custom scoring system that creates realistic college football-like final scores (skill position players score in multiples of 7, while Defenses and Kickers score in multiples of 3).
The limited player pool will consist of players from teams in the ACC, SEC, PAC 2, BIG 10, MWC, and BIG 12, plus Notre Dame and UConn (84 teams in all).
We use real college team names and logos. In order to give everyone a fair chance at getting their school of choice, teams are renamed and rebranded after the draft depending on the Defense that you select.
Teams are placed into one of the four conferences according to their geographic location (Defenses can't be dropped).
$100 buy-in per owner (includes both teams as well as your fair share of the fantrax premium league fee)
$2,670 total prize pool:
$1000 to the champs
$500 to runner ups
$250 apiece to 3rd-4th place
$100 apiece to 5th-8th place
$50 apiece to 9th-12th place
$70 to the Heisman Trophy winner
If all 56 spots don't fill, unowned teams will run on autopilot and prizes will be a percentage of the total prize pool instead:
1st= 37.5%
2nd= 18.7%
3rd-4th= 9.4% apiece
5th-8th= 3.75% apiece
9th-12th= 1.85% apiece
Heisman= 2.6%
Any possible prize money won by unowned teams would be split evenly amongst the teams who finish "in the money".
