The Cowboys need that money to make up for the lack of post season earnings.

They were going through the list on the radio here today and they said Whitten was higher than Owens and that Ware was the 5th Cowboy in the top 20.

Surprising that a guy that never won a postseason game would be #1 on the list. I remember when Americans hated losing...

The NFL happens to have some of the best jerseys to actually wear. You have to wear something else with NBA jerseys and baseball jerseys look awkward. I like hockey jerseys but they're kind of bulky.

Big difference from #1 to #10, too. Surprised that Favre sold so many. I'd like to know sales on throwbacks, too. Thanks for the info.

All I know is that my son wanted an ADP jersey for Xmas. There were plenty of Romos on the rack (and blue ones at that). You couldn't get an ADP jersey anywhere as they were selling out everywhere. (We're 1,000+ miles from Minnesota.) Not sure why he's so low on the list,

I'm guessing the stores just get more Romo jerseys than AD jerseys.

How is Urlacher still in the top 10?
I am wondering the same thing...in all honesty, he is past his prime and I would have thought that people who wanted his jersey would have already purchased it in the past. Favre does not surprise me at all since he changed teams. Barber does surprise me too, as I would not think the non-FF'ers would really know who he is.

Because I believe up until about a season ago he was the only member of the Bears that had his jersey mass produced. As a matter of fact, I was at the mall yesterday and still didn't see anybody else.

Saw a guy yesterday wearing a Steelers Maddox #8 jersey. What are the sales on those?
It must have been a prototype, and he got the only one.How many of those Romo jerseys are the pinky 'Jessica' ones?

Is this actual retail sales to the consumer or sales from the wholesaler to the retailers?? Just because more were made doesn't mean more were actually purchased by dopes like us.

I wonder whose jersey "sold" the most in one year all-time? Gotta be Jordan, right?

Equal to the number of Bubby Brister #6 jerseys...of which I have one. :football:
I've got my #10 Kordell Stewart jersey at home. Anyone know if there's a place/way to get Stewart taken off the back and replaced with Holmes?
Yeah, I threw away my Kordella jersey about 5 years ago (it was a knock off I bought at a flea market in South Carolina for $20 as well), but still wear my vintage Rod Woodson (Steelers) jersey I bought back in '94 and still wear it for big games. The numbers and name are nearly unlegible now from all the washings, but that just makes it even better in my book!

I know a girl who bought every Steelers QB jersey since O'Donnell, and of course they always lost. She didn't buy a Ben jersey, and since they won with him she never will - she only wears double-zeroes now.

I'm not surprised that NFL jerseys are at the top of the overall list, they're the only ones that don't look silly when you're not at a game.

Great ob. These are sales from Reebok to the retailer. Undoubtedly...retailers are sitting on plenty of Romo inventory, so his number will drop in '09.NFL jersey sales are roughly 3.5-1 over MLB jersey sales. NFL is a larger business as a whole...and NFL fans seem to be more willing to wear jerseys.

I can honestly say I have seen all of those jerseys on people execpt one. I have never seen anyone wear an Owens jersey.

Sorry...I'm wrong. Read the article...I see sportsscaninfo reported this...which means they created this based on sell-thru data directly from retailers. Not all retailers report...so not sure how accurate it is. We use SSI internally a little as a guide, but don't put alot of faith in it.This year is unique though in that I'm sure there was a larger % of total sales pre-booked. The economy slowed NFL replenishment thru Nov and Dec to a crawl. Normally retail would be chasing the playoff teams heavily at this time. The poor overall team mix didn't help either.

I'm so proud of my 9 year old daughter.

We live in Maryland and her 4th grade teacher is a Steeler fan (as well as I am). My daughter watching Steeler games with me from time to time, wanted me to buy her a Troy Paulamalu jersey so she could wear it to school (since Steelers are in a big game this weekend against the Ravens and we live in Ravens/Skins territory). Couldn't find any in the Walmarts or Targets in our area, so we got on the web and started scouting around and found one for her. Being a girly-girl I thought for sure she would want one of the pink ones, but she prefers a true-colored Steeler "away" # 43 jersey instead. Granted I'm buying her a $20 knock off instead of a $70 "real" jersey but still I can't believe she didn't want a pink one. I guess I'm doing something right in raising her.

My 20 year old daughter has two jersey's: a normal Hines Ward  and a pastel-yellow Polamalu with gold sparkles :bag:

Before I opened the thread I guessed -

Romo

Favre

Peyton Manning

LT

ADP

Tom Brady

Eli Manning

Donovan McNabb

Ray Lewis

Brian Westbrook

I wasn't even close.

What part of MD? I'm guessing like Frederick or Hagerstown area as the local TV station in Hagerstown used to broadcast Steeler games before the Ravens came along.BTW, check eBay for jerseys. A co-worker bought authentic Steeler jerseys (Pro Bowl, throwback included) for like $40. Gotta check where they come from and the sellers rating, but he's wholly satisfied with 'em.

I can get them for around that price, if any Steeler fans want them, let me know, I have a friend that sells them.
