The previous version of these forums placed a black dot on the thread icon when you posted in a thread -- like the white corner in the current version.
You'd have to ask Jimboozie to be certain in this case. It is usually used as a standalone. Among the multitude of variations are posts of "." and now the :whitecorner: or :JasonSehorn: I suppose that posting it in addition to text or other icons may indicate that the poster will be watching the thread with interest.
Thanks for your explination. I really thought at first that it was used to symbolize a black hole or something, where any time spent reading the thread was sucked into nothingness, never to be recovered.
wow, talk about a thread being hijacked... but yeah, the whole blackdot thing makes no sense to me since the white corner is what's currently used. Furthermore, the FAQ still refers to the black dot being used in the thread icon...for those who aren't familiar with the old version of this forum, it can definitely lead to
