The (WR) Replacements (1 Viewer)

With weekly fantasy starting receivers like Kenny Britt, Percy Harvin, and Donald Driver going down this weekend and potentially missing a game each - if not more - who are you looking at as replacements, insurance, and depth?

Here are a few names I find intriguing that may be floating around on many waiver and free agent wires.

- Darrius Heyward-Bey - Stepped up big last week with 5 for 105 and a TD. Finally living up to the (Al Davis) hype and draft justification? With Louis Murphy out with a bruised lung, Chaz Schilens still on the mend, and Zach Miller now on crutches, the ball has to go somewhere in this suddenly hot offense.

- Bernard Berrian - Harvin's hurt, Moss is more than likely on his way out of town. A new de facto #1 in Minnesota...?

- James Jones/Jordy Nelson - With Finley out for the year and Driver now hurting, someone aside from Jennings needs to step up in GB's aerial game. The tandem of Quarless and Lee hasn't been impactful at tight end.

- Brandon Gibson - Outside of PPR leagues (Amendola), may be the most attractive and reliable receiver in the StL...at least until Danario Alexander heals.

- Nate Washington - If Britt ends up being out for an extended period, immediately becomes the #1 deep receiving threat for the Titans. Downfall is next week's upcoming BYE.

- Brandon Tate - Your Patriots leading receiver for week 8 with 3 for 101 and a score. Tate was highly spoke of as a "Moss-replacement" prior to the Branch trade, and Deion clearly isn't playing at full-strength. Was his big game a sign of things to come or a fluky performance based on two big, broken plays...?

- Mohamed Massoquoi - The Browns #1 - at least based upon the depth chart - may have been dropped due to his concussion and/or the Browns BYE week. Preseason sleeper that could wake up in the 2nd half...?

What are your thoughts on the above players, and is there anyone else you Britt/Harvin/Driver owners and waiver/FA sharks have your eyes on?

:lmao:

With Andre Johnson pulling himself from tonight's game (then subsequently returning several plays later), it's looking like his ankle injury is a lingering concern that could cause missed time at some point. As such, this thread is even more relevant.

I know there are plenty of Britt/Harvin/Driver owners out there, as well as others who are just scouring the wire for wide receiver depth.

Let's get some other opinions and discussion going!

The latter. Tate has been an afterthought since Moss left. He had one legit down the field target & got a lucky reception when the DB let the ball go through his hands. The big play was schoolyard ball, where the protection broke down, Brady evaded the rush and the DB lost Tate deep. He might hit on a long one every once in a while, but until I see some evidence of Tate being involved in the basic offense, I'm passing on him.
