It happens to all the great teams...the dreaded rebuilding phase. It is now the Yankees turn. I for one hope that they can get things done earlier than the 3-5 year period it usually takes for a team to get back on track. I sort of miss the rivalry of years past. There's a new manager coming in, star player(s) leaving, Steinbrenner stepping down. Lot's of things going on in New York. I'd say it's a safe assumption that the Yankees will be back in the playoffs by 2010.

" :angrycrickets:I really hope the Yanks pull things together. I'd hate to see them forging a new rivalry with Baltimore and the Jays.

Maybe in New York the hatred was steered towards the Mets but I always remember the Yankees being the enemy.

Really, there is no reason to be upset. They are winning now. Let's just not act like that was always a good team, becuase it wasn't. The Red Sox were a bad team for a long time with a few competitive seasons mixed in. Nothing else. Now go back to Tangiers and fish.
