Things I do with the VBD Sheet... (1 Viewer)

Is there no one that can make the ADPs magically appear in their own column?
Here is what I would do (note, this won't work unless you make a copy of the cheatsheet and paste all values, so that you're working with text instead of formulas):1. Insert a column to the right of each of the player columns on the cheatsheet.2. Highlight a player column.3. Select "Data" then "Text to Columns"4. Choose "Delimited", then enter "Next"5. Where it says "Delimiters", check only "Other" and then enter a left parenthesis "(" in the adjacent box.6. Click "Finish". This should put all of the ADP stuff into another column. (There will be a leftover right parenthesis, but you can do a Find/Replace to get rid of these.)7. Repeat steps 2-6 for all positions.

Thanks man - did this with no result ...followed your directions (very clear). Nothing happened - what am I likely doing wrong, would really like to get this to work.TksTerry

Not sure why it doesn't work for you.

Just tried it myself, and the only thing I did differently was to highlight only the list of players at each position, rather than an entire column. Otherwise, for some reason it was causing the data to jump up one row, but everything else seemed to work.

Are you making sure that you did a "Paste Special/Values" with your cheatsheet? It won't work with the straight VBD sheet, because everything is formulas. So you need to make sure QB1 says "Tom Brady (01.16)" or whatever, and not =Input!AB3 or some other formula.

Let me know if that works.

Skippy the One Eyed Beagle used to have a great modifying program for the VBD app that did a lot of similar things. I don't think he maintains it anymore. Before the Dominator came out, this was the best thing there was.

ChampYour last note helped. I was working straight off the VBD Cheatsheet tab. So I copied and pasted each of the columns of players by position in "chunks" in order to avoid the merged cells in the titles. I pasted the #/name/team/bye week data as "special" and selected "values and numbers" button. At that point my sheet looks like the VBD Cheatsheet without the headers and black line borders. I then follwed your direction and viola - beauty ...It didcrop the "(" left paragraph marker so I don't know how to fix that (no big deal - just a little particular I guess about my 'sheet")Much thanks.

Feel free to move this if it is not "on topic" enough.

When a new VBD sheet comes out, I enter one of my league settings into the first sheet (paste-special-values seems to work).

1. Expand the Overall down to 102.

2. Create a new sheet, copy and paste (special) and paste values first and then formats from the generated Cheat tab, then name the sheet something relevant to the particular league - I also create a light gray border for all cells.

3. Use Conditional formatting to color code the overall column by position for RB (blue), WR (yellow), QB (pink)

4. Draw a line every 12th (or 16th) player to represent each round of the draft in the overall column.

5a. Bucket each position by 32 points (2 points per week differential) by using a thick line under the appropriate fantasy total for that position.

5b. Subdivide each bucket whenever there is a 10 point drop from 1 player to the next using a regular black underline.

6. color code the ranked player by ADP, so that first round players are 1 color, second round players a 2nd color, etc... If I know what slot I am picking from I use that to determine the round bounds. So if I am picking 5th, 1.01 thru 1.04 are gray and 1.05 thru 2.07 are yellow (I just change the background of the cell with the number in it). I do this to easily spot potential values in upcoming rounds to determine if I want to take a player from that position now or wait for a better value the next round.

I have modified this to only use the ADP as a guide for ranking within position, I use my league's drafting patterns for the past year to guess how many of which position will be taken by each of my picks and then use ADP to determine the order of the 17 WR's taken between pick 3.02 and 4.15 (for example)

7. change the color of the text for players I am targetting

8. for RB handcuffs is choosing a particular column and color coding the RB with his handcuff so that I don't remember to snag him when the timing seems right

Having visible ADP values (customized by your league size) on the cheat sheet is a huge improvement this year, now if we could just get some of these other things automated it would save me a lot of time. I don't use the draft dominator since it is too much work to fix the ADP for all players by league.
Please create this in google docs and share the link.Thank you

No problem. If you still want to have the parentheses around the ADP, the workaround would be to first do a Find/Replace with another character. For instance, Find ( and replace it with *( ... or whatever first symbol you want to use . Then use the * instead of the parenthesis as the character to create a new column and you should be all set. Hope that makes sense.

I am not good with Excel but if anyone knows how to do this easily, that would be great as this is the first year I am not using DD in a while

I want to have the players in order of their projected FBGs scores. The way it stands now is AP is #2 with 296 while MJD is 3 with 303 (no big secrets being divulged IMO)

Am I missing a reason why AP is 2 with less points.
