The funny things your kids say thread had a good discussion that got me thinking. There are so many things my kids do that have me shuked.

The first one that comes to mind... Whats with the John Cena shtick?  When we were at the beach they were yelling at every big wave "JOHN CEEEEEENA!!!!!"

I think it's a youtube meme. just terrible. (definitely from before what otb mentioned... first time I noticed it was spring break)

from that other thread.

and yeah- I've got a just turned 9yo, so I know all about the beating things into the ground schtick. if I hear john cena's name one more time... who am I kidding- I'll hear it 20 more times before I have dinner.

Call people they've only met online their "girl/boyfriend". How is that possible??? I never thought cat fishing was real but now I'm finding out that's a real possibility.

BIZAARDVARK!

do yourselves a favor and block this ####   :X

Disney is really scraping the ####### barrel with this steaming pile of excrement.

thank me later.

My 9yr old one day said to me, "Jooooohhhnnn Ceeeeenaaa!!!"

I asked her who he is.  She had no idea.

A week or two go by and we're in ToysRUs and I happen to come across a John Cena doll.  I show it to her and go, "Jooooohhhhnnnn Ceeeennnaaa!", to which she replies, "You're so weird."

Not necessarily kids, but I never understood the urban youth inspired pants around the thighs.  It looks super uncomfortable and goofy.  Plus it must be difficult to walk and you have to make sure your underwear is always clean.  No thank you.

watching a youtube video of people opening toys... not even playing with them- just opening them.
when I was researching TVs a year or so ago, I saw plenty of "UNBOXING" vids available for every damn model I was considering

now, I get where you're coming from, because my 11 year old went through that phase with Shopkins, My Little Pony blind bags, etc

but I've seen big people do it, too (and not just TVs)

The whole YouTube video craze of watching other kids open toys leaves me completely baffled. My 7 year old would watch them all day, if I let him. He bugged me for so long, I had to go out and buy a piñata for his birthday to use as a surprise egg, and put a bunch of gifts in it. The worst thing is that he thinks it's normal for kids to get and open presents every day.

also, will never understand the 19-20+ year olds making fanboy videos of themselves playing with Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog stuffed animals and doing voice-over of some pretty weird and adult situations. I hope this is a simple one-generational thing, since these guys will clearly never reproduce, but WTF?

I had to go to knowyourmeme.com to catch up on some of these.

"Fre shavaca do" will be stuck in my head all day now.

Edit: I now get the John Cena thing.

Sure, why not.  Teenagers are still children.
Groups of teenage boys are generally loud imbeciles and annoy everyone around.

i like giving them intimidating looks on the subway and I would love to punch their worthless parents in the face.

and sterilize them....the teenagers and parents

I don't understand why more 7-15yo kids don't have jobs. They've got plenty of time after school, plus all summer. There are factories where they could be making handbags, shoes, scarves etc. for 35 cents a pop. Wouldn't kill these kids to help their parents out with household expenses, save for retirement, etc.
