Things you dislike about millennials (1 Viewer)

No work ethic.

At all.

No social skills......at all.

Their fervent belief that none of them should have to work terrible jobs.

I need my burger king, kids. Get it together.

A great many are utterly consumed with the trivial. They get their "news" from inferior outlets like Yahoo, their Facebook feed, and the Daily Show and regurgitate it as gospel.

They endlessly preach about tolerance and acceptance while simultaneously engaging in intense demagoguery and the "othering" of perceived outgroups via social media frenzies.

Most demonstrate at best a cursory knowledge of history and the understanding of how historical events relate to present day issues.

Actually studies have shown that getting your news from John Stewart meant you were better informed than getting it from many other outlets especially Fox.

They can't do anything without being shown how to do it. Then, when it's their responsibility to do it, they blame their training when they can't do it right.

"Skinny" clothing (on men), whether is be termed 'tailored' or other such nonsense. Emphasizing you're a twig is a very weird thing to be considered cool.

*Best example - Elijah Wood n Wilfred looks like he shopped at baby gap for the entire series.

Working in restaurants keeps me in constant contact with millenials. Some suck, some are pretty cool and most are in between. Pretty much like every generation.

While the ones I know all seem like they work hard and want to succeed, each and every one of them are stuck to their phones 24/7. Annoys the hell out of me.

OK this one is true but its hardly just them.
Oh, older people are just as guilty, but speaking from my experience, I know a lot of older people that aren't addicted to their phones. The millennials I know are ALL addicted to their phones. It's ridiculous. I just shake my head.

Go check your phone. Hurry up, you might miss something of the utmost importance in someone else's life..

I am a borderline millennial (34) and I am on zero social media :coffee:

So true. Here in L.A. I see so many guys who are skinnier (and less muscle) than female models - and it's considered a good thing.

34 is not a millenial as far as I understand it.

It really just depends where you are looking. I've seen 1978 on and also 1984+. There is not real set definition, which is why I said I'm borderline. I like to go back and forth depending on my argumentative position.

Nope.

I'm 29 and I couldn't agree more. I have a few friends that have given up on the idea of working their way up in their respective careers. They don't realize how ####ed they are going to be when they hit 40 and realize they have little to no savings, no pension, and still living paycheck to paycheck. They live in L.A. right now, but have started blaming the city for their lack of progress and have decided they're better off moving somewhere else...as if working and paying rent is only an L.A. problem.

Their student loan debt is going to really hurt the economy.
Yah, this sucks. I guess I'm a millennial, 29 atm, and I'm about 30k in student loan debt, graduated 3 years ago. And I have one of the lower student loan debt numbers of my friends/coworkers that I've talked with. It's crazy.

From the White House https://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/docs/millennials_report.pdf-- first paragraph:

Millennials, the cohort of Americans born between 1980 and the mid-2000s, are the largest generation in the U.S., representing one-third of the total U.S. population in 2013. With the first cohort of Millennials only in their early thirties, most members of this generation are at the beginning of their careers and so will be an important engine of the economy in the decades to come.

Judging an entire generation of people as having "no social skills" is a really weird thing to do. There are tons of successful, normally functioning millennials who contribute to society. Pretty sure most of them have social skills. Sounds like you just have trouble relating to them. Instead of looking for reasons that you have trouble relating and trying to find commonalities, you just claim they all have no social skills. Sounds like you're the one with no social skills.
