It was my fault. We were cleaning up the hay barn. We know there are snakes in there, they kill the rats. I was careless. I was moving some pallets, and probably stepped on him. I really don't recall, as it didn't matter after the fact. But wouldn't it be safe to say that the overwhelming majority of snakebites happen because the victim didn't see the snake?Coral snakes, copperheads and rattlesnakes don't come and seek you out. They need to be provoked. Cottonmouths are the most aggressive of the four venomous snakes in Texas so those are the ones you need to look out for. The one redeeming quality of a rattlesnake is that he's usually gentlemanly enough to give you an audible warning when he feels threatened.Isn't that kinda how snake bite usually happen?Bit me on my right calf. Never saw the ******* until after he hit me.offdee said:You were deathly afraid of snakes and then you actually came face to face and bitten by a rattlesnake? What was it like in that moment before bite impact? I can't imagine your underwear was still clean afterwards.Treynwreck3 said:Snakes. I was deathly afraid of snakes. "Hey, look...it's a rattlesnake. I think I'm going to get real close to it and maybe even try to pet it...OW!"
