Third Pick in 10 Team Draft (1 Viewer)

I am still waiting for Dodds 10 team Perfect Draft to come out, but thought I would take the pulse of the common man...

I have the third pick in a 10 team league and am trying to justify taking Gore over LJ...I have even flirted with the thought of taking Addai, so clearly I am confused  :wall:

Starters are 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, one Flex RB/WR/TE, 1PK and 1DEF (16 man roster...yes - it's a Yahoo League - )

My plan is to take a minimum of two and maximum of three RB's with my first 4 picks. There are only a couple of Sharks in the league and at least one complete Rookie...Manning is projected 4th if that tells you anything.

So...Thoughts???

For me anyway the top 3 picks are no brainers - LT, LJ and S JAx - so you are fine with any of them - the 4th pick is the black hole in this years draft IMO

1st thought, don't lock yourself into a specific draft strategy before you know what your options are. If the #1 WR, the #1 QB and the #17 RB on your board is staring you in the face with your 2nd round pick don't you think you should at least consider taking the WR or QB?

It tells me that perhaps your league has wisely modified your rules to increase the value of QBs. Or it tells me that the person who picks Manning at #4 has the absolute best chance in your entire league for his #1 draft pick to start 16 games and play consistently at a very high level. Sounds exactly like what you want from your first round pick.btw with the problems to the offensive line in Cincinnati I think Manning distances himself from the #2 QB (Palmer) by an even wider margin than he already does. Cinci lost their starting left guard, center and their pro bowl RT (Willie Anderson) has missed training camp and some are speculating that his injury may be worse than Cinci is letting on. Palmer may be running for his life all season. Considering Brees, Bulger (injury risks) & Brady (ridiculously balanced offense that limits his upside) round out the top 5 QBs on most people's boards it seems even more logical to grab Manning early.

I like Addai there. I'm not kidding. After LT and SJax I think Addai is the #3 RB....Just to note, I own him in one league and traded him away in the offseason in another....
