Most recent issue (Vol2, Issue 2; 8/09/06) of Training Camp Update shows Thomas Howard (S), indicating he's running as a strong side backer.

I know that's a mistake and that he's running first team at the Will.....the coaches love his speed and agility and he's got the lead in starting at WLB.

That's correct, right?

Also, I've got opportunity to offer either Morrison or Howard as trade bait....one of the two goes and one of the two stays.

Who goes and who stays? :football:

Howard goes. Unproven rookie in the less favorable position in the Oakland scheme. Morrison has proven himself as a tackle machine outside with a replacement level backer in the middle. He should be even better this season. There is a small chance that Howard produces big tackle numbers and better big play stats long term, but, IMO, Morrison's big numbers from the Will last year was more a function of his talent, the shady overall defense, and Clark's relative shakiness in the middle. I think the tackle split this year (and while these two are side by side) reverts to a more typical split.

Yup, I agree, Howard is good trade bait.Bing's also in the mix somewhere in OAK....it just hasn't worked it's self out yet.
