First time I ever saw this kid he was still in HS at Long Beach Poly, I was nodding in and out half into it when....who in the hell is this? The kid put on a show. He also played safety.
I see another GREAT NFL receiver here and AB a total non factor.
Mentioned this in some thread somewhere a few weeks ago but JuJu's had a spattering of full or almost full games without AB and it's been pretty good.
Week 16 in 2017: 7/6/75/1
Week 17 in 2017: 10/9/143/1
Week 17 2018: 10/5/37/1
Those I believe are his full 3 games without AB but with limited sample size I try and gather more data and in week 15 last year against NE AB went out right about start of first quarter. JuJu had 6/114 in that game but in the 3 full quarters without AB went had 4 targets, 4 catches, 84 yards.
So if you want to look at as just 3 full games averages he is at 9 targets a game, 6.66 receptions, 85 yards and 1 TD and if you use that 3/4th of a game the yardage will increase a tad and TD's drop but relatively close.
Also when most of those games occurred he was a rookie and stands to reason he improved.
I do think teams considered AB the # 1 priority last year but I'd also say most teams gameplan was to not let AB and JuJu beat you. So he'll see more attention, more #1 CB's, but he's already been focus of defensive attention and I have full confidence he is up for the challenge and will improve his overall productivity with AB gone.
