OAK has a bye to get their stuff together, but they need a LOT to get a lot together.

what are your thoughts on randy moss turning it around?

If you've got him you can't trade him now but if you don't then you probably can get him for cheap.

something like coles would be a move i would do if coles was my WR3. that's a decent gamble.

You have to give a little benefit of the doubt b/c they've played two good Ds, but bad OL, bad OC, rookie QB, bad D - doesn't bode well at all.

Pretty much every league I have Moss in is a 3 or 4 start WR league. There is really no way he falls out of that group just on sheer talent alone. So, I'll pretty much be starting him until hurt. I really hope Oak uses this bye week to straighten out that pathetic play calling. Though I did not see todays came, so maybe it wasn't as bad as last week.

I have Moss in a start 2 WR league. Holt is entrenched as the number 1. I'm going to start looking for an option instead of Moss.

Walter, even with 3 picks, was an improvement. Shorter drops, moved the ball. I'm amazed the Raiders scored at all. The schedule opens up a bit after the bye. Moss is killing me, but I'll have to ride it out and hope for the best.

I am looking to pick him up in leagues where I don't have him. His value is at an all time low and his schedule just gets easier.

I also think Jordan can be had very cheap and might look to add him in leagues. However, I think the upside in Moss is much higher then anything you will get out of Jordan. The team just seems so lost.

I think that in most 10 or 12 team leagues it is still early enough in the season to grab a decent WR off the waiver wire to plug into Moss's slot on your team. That would enable you to sit on Moss for as couple of weeks to see if Oakland works the kinks out. That being said, this week I'm going to shop Moss around to the "Moss guys" and guppies in my league in hopes that they overpay for the name.

That's officially the understatement of the day IMO. There's A LOT more to work out than some "kinks". Now they've got a full blown (crappy) QB controversy. And from a post above, let's take it easy on the OAK D. I though they played pretty well considering the amount of time they were forced on the field and the field position due to the turnovers.

I wish the Raiders would trade him to another team.
Boy, I agree with this. Don't hold your breath, however. Moss is the main draw for fans of this horrid team. They would need to hear an offer they can't refuse. The schedule does ease up a lot following the bye, and things might get a little bit better with Walter at QB. The people saying that they will "work things out" over the bye are dreaming. This coaching staff is using schemes right out of the 60s. You can't take a mentally-challenged kid and have him winning chess tournaments in two weeks. If you can't move Moss for something equitable, hang onto him. His playoff scheddy is cake:Week 15 - St. Louis @ OaklandWeek 16 - Kansas City @ OaklandOf course, you have to hope that Moss hasn't completely shut it down by then, mentally, or literally. If Oakland is 2-12 entering week 15, one can only wonder what kind of effort he'll put forth.

What took you so long?I started Old Man Bruce over Moss today.... Unfortunately, this is already a situation where you have to play the matchups.

Are we going under the impression that Walter will start from herer on out? I read somewhere that Shell said that if Brooks is healthy, he's the guy.

I'm going by my eyes, and the assumption that Shell also has the gift of sight.Walter looked so much better than Brooks, it's not even funny. And the sad part is, Walter would have had a ways to go to look merely AVERAGE.

They need to stick with the shorter drops and start sending Moss over the middle. He can't keep running down the sidelines and hoping the QB has time to get him the ball.

I really don't think Oakland will win a game this year...they are just THAT bad. I don't have Moss...and don't want him this year...I think it would be tough to find someone who would want him.

i sent an offer to the moss owner:

Moss

McGahee

for

A. Johnson

Heap

Droughns

he countered with:

Moss

for

A. Johnson.

i just accepted and am now a moss owner. (i've drafted him every year, lost the last two years, no surprise here.) as a moss fan and owner i was surprised he countered and was just asking for andre johnson.

I am going to try to get TO for him this week. Redraft league and the TO owner is 0-2 an i am 2-0. Hopefully convince him being without TO for the next 4 weeks will have him down and out at 1-5 or 0-6.

Randy Moss has been a "buy low" candidate for the past 2 years now.

He's notorious for the tweaks and hammys, but when you draft him, you kinda' accept that risk.

Now, he's healthy but the team/QB is so bad that you're getting nothing out of him.

I'm sure he'll have a blowup week here or there.

But no thanks.

The upside to Moss is just not enough anymore put up with the weeks he's non-existant.

Non-existant weeks from Moss are still outliers, although this may change as the season progresses. I still love the potential for huge weeks from Moss, and can only hope that two teams with excellent secondaries have game-planned to stop Moss. Against lesser competition, Moss owners can only hope this doesn't continue to work.

:goodposting: At what point do people stop living in the past? And by living in the past I don't even mean the past two seasons as he hasn't been that great. I've always been critical of Andre Johnson because his production has never lived up to his hype. The dude always got drafted higher than his numbers warranted. Moss has become THAT GUY. Sorry, but I would no longer give up much to get him. I have Walker and wouldn't move him for Moss. We'd have to get to Mason levels before I'd part ways to acquire Randy.

What do you do with Moss in a keeper league? He's fairly expensive to me (2nd rounder) but can we expect him to be with the Raiders next year on the receiving end of a competent QB?

Or do the Raiders go with Brady Quinn (or another rookie)?

I would get basically nothing for him and would likely only receive another underperformer.
