Tier 2 Rookie IDP's ... (LB & DB's) (1 Viewer)

RUN HARD

Footballguy
LOOKING AT LB & DB's:

IMO there are 4 TOP Rookie IDP's (Willis, Posluszny, Beason, & Landry)....after those 4 who of these has best shots at being a #1 IDP (TOP 20 overall):

L Timmons (LB)

D Harris (LB)

M Okwo (LB)

OTHER LB

E Weddle (DB)

A Rouse (DB)

B Meriweather (DB)

S Piscitelli (DB)

R Nelson (DB)

OTHER DB

Thanks

Weddle, Piscitelli, Merriweather, and Timmons are all in good situations (lack of existing talent). I like Weddle for his versatility (played every position in college except d-line, o-line, and K).

Okwo has the highest ceiling because he could inherit the coveted cover 2 WLB. My favorite sleeper of the 2nd tier guys is Anthony Waters.

Top 20 overall defensive?

Pretty much rules out the DBs. Weddle, Rouse and Meriweather have an outside shot at 80 solos but no chance at enough in the boxscore to finish in the top 20.

Okwo and Timmons could both be WLB in good schemes in 2008, with Okwo more likely than Timmons today. Harris is nice, but the Belichick hybrid linebackers have struggled to put up big numbers so far -- only Andra Davis has approached 90 solos so far.

Edge Okwo.

Rouse could too. He doesn't have any proven competition in Titletown. A 6'4 SS is intriguing.

Sorry..meant TOP 20 overall at their position.

My favorite of the DBs is Piscitelli, he inherits a very nice spot if he can beat out Phillips.

My favorite of the LBs is Timmons, the guy is an amazing talent even if he's a bit raw and if Pitt converts to the 4-3 (which is what I've been led to believe) he could be a stud in '08.
