Tiers (1 Viewer)

C - V Martinez, Russell Martin (maybe Mauer and McCann)

1B - Howard, Pujols, Fielder

2B - Utley

3B - Wright, ARod, Cabrera, Braun

SS - Rollins, Ramirez, Reyes

OF - too many to list, but Holliday and about 14 others seem to be at the top of the class before a big dropoff

SP - Santana, Peavy, Webb, Beckett

RP - Rodriguez, Papelbon, Nathan???

After doing a couple auctions and drafts, this whole tiering thing is starting to make sense - I used to only consciously do it for football, but now i am seeing the value of tiering and VBD in baseball as well.

C - I'd include McCann with tier 1, but wouldn't touch him until the 7th round. Mauer's a step down the tier ladder.

1B - add Texieria to tier 1, I'd take him over Pujols, I'm expecting a huge year from Tex

3B - Atkins and A Ram are a notch down from the Big 4 but not that far, I prefer them in the 3rd instead of the OF's that are typically available

OF - I don't think there's a big drop off after the top 14 or so, in fact I think many in the top 14 are quite over valued. Guys like Hart, Pence, Sheffield, Abreu, and Chris Young are under valued, they can be found in the 4th, 5th, and 6th and produce like a top 30 player. Francouer and Kemp a bit later too. I'd rather target another position in the 3rd round and look for these guys later.

SP - add Bedard to the top tier, I prefer him to Beckett

RP - add Putz to the top tier although you'll never see me with any of them

I am glad someone else is high on some of the OFs I wound up with.In a 13 teamer, my OF consists of Pence, Hart, Duncan, Kubel, Guttierez, Scott, and Bautista (I also have Berkman - but am using him at 1B).Pretty motley crew, but lots of upside. Hopefully the price I paid for a good infield was worth it.
