TIKI HURT? (1 Viewer)

ESPNews reports RB Tiki Barber will have X-rays on his arm. It was originally reported as a bruised forearm. Brandon Jacobs would be a big fantasy factor if Barber missed any extended time. Run the same drill as the Westbrook/Buckhalter alert last week. You can never be overprepared in fantasy football -- especially this year where up means down and down means up.

Sorry forgot about that

I am in NY, and am a huge Giants fan. I havent heard anything about this. If I do, Ill pass it along.

All I've heard, coming from sportingnews radio, is that he had his left forearm x-rayed today. Tiki did talk with reporters after the game but never mentioned his arm. Just get the feeling that this isn't a big deal. Least, I hope it isn't.

Giants Fan Site

as informed a fan site as you'll find and nothing seems to be reported here either.
all i seen on Tiki at all was this on a FF writers injury watch blog..nothing about an arm..but Tiki is tough as nails and I doubt he will sit at this point..Tiki Barber - RB: Running back Tiki Barber was seen limping as he left the stadium following the Giants' overtime win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Just wondering if others are thinking like I am that Jacobs will be a stud if Tiki is out a significant amount of time.
I'm thinking that Jacobs just MAY...MAY-BE a better runner than Tiki already. I'm not a NYG Homer, but watched BOTH games this year, and lemme tell 'ya, when Jacobs has gotten his chance to touch the rock, dude looks damned impressive. I thought that he ran better -vs- Philly than Tiki did...he certainly appeared to have more success than Tiki. I'll be surprized if Big Jake doesn't see more touch's in the future after Coughlin sees the game film.

I'm a Giants homer and like Jacobs a lot. I've been signing his praises as potentially more then just a big bruising back for a while. He is fast and can be shifty for a big guy. He has shown a ton of improvement over his rookie year. But you are getting way, WAY carried away.Tiki has been under-appreciated for years by football fans and fantasy football players alike, and I guess this is just the latest incarnation of it.

You would be wise to be more concerned......and Tiki is as valuable as the so called big 3. It appears he is leading the media on, and some of the sites are very concerned. Local reports are never the true reflection with the desire to keep the "mongers" at bay. Possible fracture exists and a "casted" dual purpose RB loses many looks in the passing game. :o

Tiki is not quiet. He may be on TV and radio more than any other NFL player. We'll hear about this

I have yet to find anyone reporting on Tiki's injury. Is this all just hype or did he actually have some sort of arm injury. Also read a report of him limping. Anyone know where to get reliable news?

Injury Report: TE Jeremy Shockey's ankle was bothering him so much late in the game against the Eagles that he did not play in overtime. Head Coach Tom Coughlin said yesterday that Shockey's ankle was "sore again and it's got some swelling, so…I think he was going for further tests, but he's had these tests before."

"I hope we get him (for the Seattle game)," Coughlin said. "It's been a process where we've gotten him toward the end of the week. We thought he was better the second week than he was the first week. I'm holding out that perhaps he'll be at least equal to where he's been the last couple of weeks. We'll have to see."

Safety James Butler sprained his knee and is day-to-day.

He's fine.

Long-### overreaction thread for a bruised forearm.
Do they normally x-ray bruises?
Yes. To confirm that the bruise is not a break. :pics:
I can't imagine they x-ray every bruise on every football player every week.
If they're bad bruises in vulnerable spots I'm sure they do, think about the financial investment teams have in these player!!! The cost and time to take an x-ray is nothing

When is their bye? Seems to me, Visanthe should play the week before to try and get Shockey's ankle 2 weeks of rest. Otherwise, seems like he'll press on and play hurt

Are you sure it wasn't Shockey who was limping? (He came down funny on that last catch, limped to teh sidelines and news here showed him visibly limping later)

Obviously not every bruise on every player. But if it's a serious bruise on your most valuable offensive weapon, then I'm sure they'll take the time to confirm that there's no hairline fracture there. Of course, you may be surprised to learn that I'm not a doctor. But it seems like an obvious precaution.

Why do you argue with people in the Shark Pool? You know they are right. Why try reasoning? Seriously?
Why bother posting things like this? There's no value in what you're adding here. It's a discussion board. If you don't like the discussion, move on guy. I can guarantee no one will miss your snide comments. :bye:

Tiki was also seen icing his knee after the game on Sunday.

I prefer to evaluate this based on:Which one looks more like Ronde?

It's weird how they have the same last name and they look so much alike.

Joke works better with proper spelling... Ronde Barber. Shaun (Alexander).

Here is an update posted on the News area of Footballguys.com this morning.

Tiki Update ...
I'll help.
Tiki calls bruise thing of beauty

Tiki Barber has what he called "a deep bruise" on his left forearm, right near the spot where he broke that arm back in 2000. But precautionary X-rays came back negative, and he said yesterday that the injury "is nothing."

"I actually got it last week against the Colts," Barber said. "It went away and I thought it would be fine, but I got hit again in the same spot. I always use this arm to fend people off and they just wanted to make sure that my previous fracture wasn't disrupted.

"But it's fine. It's calloused and it looks beautiful."

Barber, by the way, is leading a campaign to raise awareness about Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). As part of SCD Awareness Month, he's started a Web site and a hotline (877-SCD-TIKI) where people can get more information on the most common inherited blood disorder in the U.S.

:lmao: (My point, in case it wasn't obvious, was that he was talking about a "report", not ACTUALLY seeing one of them limp and thus confusing the two :) )
