Tim Carter may be the next Giant to be released.
The Giants are set to rely on Sinorice Moss as a returner and to man the slot, a role likely to be vacated once Carter receives his pink slip. A second-rounder in 2002, Carter has been a disappointment as a pro.

Now let's see what he does with it. I've never seen a WR such as Tim Carter have so much bad luck with injuries early in his career, and he didn't seize the chance when healthy either. I was wrong about his abilities. I really thought he would be a sleeper WR when healthy, but maybe the injuries had long lasting effects. As far as Moss goes, let's just say I'm skeptical, but I do see promise.
SINORICE MOSS
Moss is a player that did not catch a lot of passes in every game which makes it tough to get a good feel for him as a receiver. He is a quick and explosive receiver who runs very good routes and consistently is able to get separation from tight man-to-man coverage -- not only are his routes good, but his ability to sell fakes helps him to turn his man around surprisingly well. He has excellent hands and does a very good job of reaching out and catching the ball away from his body. He can adjust to make the tough grab and does not hesitate to go up and catch the high pass in traffic. Once he has the ball in his hands, he is a dangerous runner who can make big plays - he can make tacklers miss and has the play speed to take plays the distance. Overall, Moss is smaller than ideal, but the rest of his skills will enable him to make an impact in the NFL - he is going to be a good receiver who catches a lot of passes and makes big plays running after the catch. Additionally, although Devin Hester was Miami's primary return man, Moss has the talent to be a good punt and kickoff returner in the NFL.
STRONG POINTS
Moss is a very good athlete with the foot quickness, acceleration and playing speed to make big plays as a receiver and returner. He runs very good routes and consistently has shown the ability to burst out of his cuts to get separation -- he does a good job of selling fakes and can turn defensive backs around easily. He has excellent hands, does a very good job of reaching out and catching the ball with his hands and makes the tough, acrobatic catch seem easy. He consistently has shown toughness catching the high pass in traffic, takes the hard hit and holds onto the ball.
WEAKNESSES
Moss' biggest problem is that he lacks the ideal size for a receiver which will hinder his ability to maintain his durabilty if over-used. He lacks the bulk/size to consistently get off the ball quickly once he has been jolted by a strong jam. He is going to need to become more consistent anticipating the snap and getting off the line of scrimmage into routes fast. He is not a consistently good blocker and does not eliminate his man consistently.
POSITIONAL FACTORS
Grade Category Comments/Description
7.5 Hands His excellent hands help him to consistently make great catches seem routine.
5.5 Initial Quickness He flashes quickness off the ball, but more often than not he is just adequate exploding off the line of scrimmage into his route.
5.5 Clean Release He needs to become more consistent off the ball, but once moving, he can close the cushion fast.
5.5 Release vs. Jam He is smaller than ideal, but his quickness and side-to-side agility help him to avoid the jam and release fast.
6.5 Patterns He runs very sharp routes, sells fakes well, and bursts out of cuts to get separation consistently.
7.0 Adjusts to Ball His hands, body control and concentration help him to consistently adjust to the ball to make tough grabs.
6.5 Run after Catch He gets started upfield quickly after the catch, has the burst to get away, and is an elusive openfield runner.
6.5 Deep Threat Once he gets to full speed, he has the burst and play speed to get separation on deep routes.
7.0 Hand/Eye Coordination Moss' hand/eye coordination are what help him to consistently make excellent catches.
4.5 Blocking He does not get after his man aggressively every time and does not stay after blocks consistently.
6.0 Return Ability His hands, agility, burst and play speed give him the ability to make plays as a returner.
6.0 Fumbles/Error He does not fumble and is not a player who makes clear mental errors.
ATHLETIC ABILITY Section Grade: 6.5
Moss is a very good athlete which is what has helped him to become a play-making receiver despite a lack of size. He has very quick feet which helps him to accelerate to full speed fast and to get started upfield quickly after the catch. Once moving, his foot quickness gives him an explosive burst out of cuts to get separation in routes, but he does not have the quick, explosive burst off the ball into his route. His agility and balance combine with his surprising strength to let him keep his feet vs. hard hits and gain yards after contact. He can change directions very quickly to get out of cuts fast and to make tacklers miss running with the ball after the catch. He has the natural flexibility to get down low to catch low passes easily and his athleticism enables him to pop up off the ground in a flash. He has excellent hands and they combine with his body control, coordination and concentration to allow him to adjust and make tough catches seem easy. He has excellent jumping ability to get up high to catch the high pass across the middle remarkably well.

Moss has consistently shown toughness catching passes in traffic without peeking, takes the hard hit and holds onto the ball. While he has shown the ability to step up and make big plays when given the chance, he has not always been their go-to-receiver (mainly because they have so many talented pass catchers at Miami). His overall production has been very good in terms of consistently catching the ball, but he has not put up huge receiving numbers -- he often had games where he caught only two or three passes. His ability to stay focused and consistently catch nearly every pass thrown his way is excellent. He consistently runs good routes, sells his fakes well and bursts out of cuts to get separation consistently. His foot quickness and athleticism help him to get started up the field quickly after the catch and he has the elusiveness and playing speed to make big plays running in the open field. He is a team player when it comes to making tough catches in traffic, but he needs to become more consistent staying after and finishing his blocks down the field. He displays very good effort once he has the ball in his hands and never stops fighting and competing to gain yards running after the catch.

Moss is a smart football player -- he runs sharp and crisp routes, always runs past the yard marker on third-down routes and uses his hands well to reach away from his body to catch the ball. Once into the play, Moss shows very good instincts and reactions, but he does not react to the snap and explode off the ball as quickly as he is capable of consistently. He does an excellent job of maintaining his focus and concentration which enables him to catch passes thrown his way.

Moss is shorter than ideal, but he is solidly built for a short receiver. While he has been durable, Moss' lack of bulk/size is going to hinder his NFL durability if he is over-used. He is a naturally explosive receiver who explodes out of cuts and after the catch to get away from defenders, but he does not consistently anticipate the snap which limits his ability to explode off the ball into his route. Despite being small, he has better playing strength than you expect -- he keeps his feet vs. hard hits surprisingly well and holds onto the ball after taking hard hits right after the catch.
