Tim Hightower (1 Viewer)

Tim Hightower is an interesting play next week. He is coming off a monster game yesterday ad he faces a panthers defense who got shredded by Michael Turner and the Falcons. What do you guys think? Is there a chance for a repeat performance or is it foolish to think he may do it again? With Skeleton likely the starter again, they will probably lean heavily on the run again and it looks like they are goin with him as the starter due to his blocking.

If I had no better options sure I would take a flyer on him. I would hate to trust any Cardinal in the fantasy playoffs though.

As someone who was a proponent for playing Hightower this past week given matchup and opportunity, I will say that yes, he could be another sneaky play.

It's true that this was really a garbage-time performance for Hightower when the game was pretty much in hand. It's also true that the majority of his yards came from a few key plays (notably the 41 yard scamper to set up his first TD, and the 35 yard burst for his second TD).

But he was getting the majority of carries, and regardless of when they came and the game circumstances at the time, Hightower did a lot more with his carries than Beanie or Stephens-Howling.

I can see him getting a similar level of carries against a D that is very susceptible -- he won't get 150 and 2 TDs again, that you can be sure of, but I think he can be a good flex option that can help propel a team to the finals.

I picked him up because I have a revolving door at RB2 on my team and may use him. Wells got dinged up again and I can see Hightower getting goal line carries and 15+ in the game overall.

I have no idea what the subtitle means....."Trust him"???

Will he get another 26 points? Probably not

Will he be a good RB2 or Flex play? Obviously depends on your roster/options but certainly going against Carolina is a plus

Bottom Line - I will be playing him....actually will have both RB in that game with JStew against the Cards as well

Check his YPC prior to the first of the two garbage TDs and decide based on that. Don't trust the stat line. The end of that game was a complete and utter quit by the Broncos.

Very true. In general, I think he is a better flex option in PPR than not.Let's face it, we're not talking as if he is going to singlehandedly win championships. And no one is denying that the game against Denver was more of a case of a blind squirrel finding a nice acorn than of Hightower proving he can put the load on his shoulders.

But at a time when injury, limited waiver options and/or locking rosters constrain flex choices, Hightower may once again prove serviceable, if not spectacular, in a nice matchup.

Tim Hightower is an interesting start. I picked him last week after reading an interesting thread that made a strong case from him in week 14 and beyond. I should have started him yesterday, but left him on my bench for the favorable Chris Ivory matchup. But no one can predict injuries so I am not going to beat myself up over it. Going forward, I have Hightower projected to be my RB #3/flex for both week 15 and 16 matchups. (I previously had Ivory as my RB#3/flex, it just goes to show how quickly things change).

The hard thing to figure about Hightower is what his floor is, and what his ceiling is. I think we all saw his ceiling yesterday and it looks real good. But those were garbage stats when the Denver defense all but gave up and Hightower took full advantage.

It’s hard to gauge what type of game the Arizona at Carolina game will be. Will either team show up or will they both just lay down or will they fight hard? Two bad teams in a suckfest game is difficult to size up. I do like the fact that Skelton is the Cardinals starter and they will rely on Hightower both as a runner and a checkdown target.

Unless Mike Williams (SEA) comes back 100% healthy, I will be starting Hightower as my flex with reasonable confidence. These are the money games, I hope he comes through.

Stewart is a much safer start than Hightower, but both seem to be very strong flex options. Neither of these teams does much through the air, and we're going to be seeing a 2 hour game most likely.

This is not very encouraging

Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said he would not have put RB Tim Hightower back in the team's Week 14 game against the Denver Broncos after he fumbled if RB Beanie Wells (illness) had been healthy or RB LaRod Stephens-Howling hadn't been gassed, according to AZCardinals.com's Darren Urban. "It was out of necessity," Whisenhunt said. "But he did what he had to do."

With Beanie Wells practicing fully on Friday, is anyone worried about his effect on Hightower? I'd like to think Hightower earned the right to a prominent role again. I'd wish Beanie would go eat some more bad fish sandwiches.
