Time capsule - 2014 WRs (1 Viewer)

First, pick three numbers between 1 and 14. Then, pick three WRs from this list who will do best in a 1/2 point per reception format:

Antonio Brown

Randall Cobb

Jordy Nelson

Alshon Jeffrey

Andre Johnson

Pierre Garcon

Victor Cruz

Keenan Allen

Larry Fitzgerald

Roddy White

DeSean jackson

Wes Welker

T.Y. Hilton

Torrey Smith

When we're done, I'll randomize the names and we'll see if you can out predict a random draw from this player pool.

To me, they're all in the same bucket. Some of them will do better than the other and the people who preferred that guy will come back to rub it in the faces of the people who liked the other guy but I honestly believe that agonizing over which guys are going to do best from that big bucket of low end WR1s/high end WR2s is a waste of time. We don't have enough information at this point to really separate them. When we get closer to August, I'll have stronger preferences. By November, it'll be a lot clearer, but we still won't know who was the best one to have. I'd literally be fine with pulling a name out of a hat deciding between guys in that bucket right now.

and

Roddy - he was so consistent before last year

Cruz - like roddy, a stud who got dinged up in the preseason and the team just collapsed around him

Jeffrey - as long as Cutler doesn't zone back into Marshall, he's legit

Missing the cut:

I can't decide between Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson, and it wouldn't surprise me to see either at the top of this list, but there's no easy way to pick one right now no matter how much people will argue over it.

If DeSean Jackson puts in the same kind of effort this offseason that he did last year, look out. I just worry that he'll coast, especially if he is the clear #1 in that offense again.

Wes Welker could take a big step forward if Decker's out of town. I should probably have him a little higher, but the concussion sucked, and he cooled down a little at the end of the season anyways.

Antonio Brown benefited from being the best target by far but I think the Steelers look a little different next year and I'm not looking to hitch my wagon to him because I don't think he's that talented.

Andre Johnson would be higher if we knew who his QB would be but if they draft one at 1.1 then he could be a huge bust.

If I knew Pierre Garcon and RG3 would stay healthy, I'd be higher on him, but I don't want to have two injury risks.

Keenan Allen showed some great flashes and seems to be emerging as the #1, but I'm not really clear on what the Chargers will look like next year.

Fitzgerald and Palmer seemed to be figuring things out and he could take a real step forward this year, but neither he nor Palmer are in their prime right now.

T.Y. Hilton seems ready to take a big step forward, but it would have to be a huge step for him to catch these guys. I like him a lot in 2014. I love him in 2015+.

Torrey Smith might not belong on this list, but with a legit intermediate threat back in the lineup and Flacco's rocket arm, he should be able to run more deep routes, which is his bread and butter. It wouldn't shock me to see him in the top 5 at the end of the season, but it would take some positive variance.
