Time to deem Big BEN... (1 Viewer)

As for Ben, he is two inches away from dying, takes a face plant off a windshield, broken jaw.
So he's a pretty dumb human being, too. What's your point?
only misses one game thus far.
And last year? And the year before? You can try and excuse every incident. The mere fact that you're doing it proves my point.
Yes, dumb. NOT INJURY PRONE! And I am not making excuses. I realize he misses games and I am concerned when he does. The argument is that he is injury prone, which is stupid. The term "injury prone" is one of the dumbest phrases/concepts that people throw around. Again, I am making a generalization about all players, so you saying that Im defending Ben is not bothering me. A lineman has an equal chance as any of having someone roll over into their leg. A QB has just a good a chance as any of slamming his thumb off of a helmet. A RB has just a good a chance as any of someone falling into their ankle. If you want to define injury-prone as bad luck, then fine, these are all examples of being injury prone. I am not denying the fact that Ben is missing games, but to label someone injury prone in this case is assinine.

I can't believe I'm having to explain the concept of being injury-prone to someone.

News flash, homer: it doesn't mean Roethsliberger sucks - he just can't avoid getting hurt.

That is a PROVEN FACT to this point in his career. Stop trying to debate it - YOU CAN'T.

Most of my discussion does not even involve Roethlisberger. I AM MAKING GENERALIZATIONS. You are not getting under my skin. And nowhere was I arguing against Roethlisberger being a good/bad QB. No ones debating that. But no one can avoid getting hit in the head like he did most recently or any of his other injuries for that matter. That is not injury-prone. That is bad luck. He is no more susceptible to injury that anyone else. It just so happens that he has been in more unfortunate situations than most. So if that is injury-prone, so be it. Youre probably also the type that believes in unicorns.

Do we need to categorize him as injury prone? He's either a backup QB for your team, or you should own Charlie Batch in larger leagues. Batch has done very well in the 2 games he played a good amount of the game, and isn't much of a drop off from Ben in FF.

In a redraft, I probably would drop him if I had him - assuming my starter has already had his bye week. But I don't see the need to label players after two years.

Slight hijack here, but does it change the way that you view Ben's performance at QB to see that Charlie Batch (read: never to be confused with Johnny Unitas) has been as successful as he has in that offense in BR's absence?

I've said he was injury-prone for a while...
Ben Roethlisberger is who you thought he was?
You can crown him if you want to, but he is what BGP thought he was!Seriously I hate the injury prone term. Too many people confuse unlucky with fragile.I would prefer injury concern. If Big Ben after doing his "Agony of defeat" motorcycle stunt stated that he still won't wear a helmet, I would have an injury concern. If he grew another appendix and started adding razor blades to his diet I would have any injury concern.A few more concussions would be an injury concern.Same with players with bad knees and guys statue QB's although Bledsoe has had a long carreer.

Not really, but I'm one of the few people who think Batch is a legit NFL starter. (caveat - I went to EMU with him, met him a few times, he is a good guy)
