Time to move Plax? (1 Viewer)

Yeah the TDs have been there, but other than week 1, he hasnt been getting the catches and yards you would hope for.

He is getting the TDs because the Giants are using him in the redzone bigtime. My Concern is that with Jacobs' return, he wont see as many targets near the GL.

Any prior Tiki owner can tell you how bad coughlin gets with Jacobs inside the 10 yard line.

I just dont see Plax keeping up this pace. You can tell that missing practice is really hurting him.

Now is the time to sell IMO.

Please feel free to talk me out of this, as he has been one of my studs so far this year. I just dont see think his production level will remain this high.

trust me... you can not get equal value for this guy... I have been trying for weeks.

If by "keeping up the pace", you mean he wont average more than 1 TD/week, you are correct. However, by trading him you are likely going to have to take a significant value hit because other owners will know he has the severely sprained ankle and will rightfully fear that he will miss time. Also, the Giants D looked great last night, but they're not THAT good, so the need to throw often will remain. Sure, Jacobs will grab a few TD's that currently may go to Plax, but Eli definitely looks for him in the red zone. In a TD heavy league, he's gold. In a yardage league, if someone wants to pay full price, go ahead and unload him. I see him ending the year w/ roughy 1000 yards and 13 TD's. Pretty tough to get rid of that kind of production; however, that's only a little better than 50 yards/game and 6/10ths of a TD every game, so it's not so good that you couldn't afford to trade him for the right price

Plax seems to be one of "those guys," the guys who no one buys as an elite option even if they put up elite numbers (ala Lamont Jordan before his injury). Tough to get anyone to offer good value for him. He's not young and people assume he's reached his ceiling. He's probably not worth trading unless you can get fair value.

Plaxico has 6 TDs this year, 3 of which were under 10 20 Yards or less (redzone). (4 yards, 10 yards, and 9 yards). The 4 & 10 yard TDs came in the only game Jacobs played in. I'm thinking if anything Burress is cutting into the number of TDs Jacobs will be getting this year.

The better this offense is, with more options, the better Burress will be.

That said, what makes you think Jacobs will perform better than Ward who has done a bang up job in his absence?

Because Ward isn't the GL back.As Jafo said, it's not like Plex is has been getting TD's from the 3. Inside the 5 and Inside the 10 yard line provide different playcalling options. They both will get theirs I believe, with probably the biggest sufferers from it being Shockey and Toomer (if anyone even has him).Plus, Plex has always been a very good deep threat. That won't change. All things considered, before I read eveyone else's reply, I was thinking if you could get decent value for him, than yes, but I think that would be hard. The only thing I could think of would be if you could get an injured Javon, Marvin, or Boldin or a struggling Lee Evans for him. Otherwise, I'd hold on. And even then, I'd be hard for me to pull the trigger for an injured guy when every week means so much (not sure how bad those inj's are since I own none of them though).

Why?He's averaging over 70 yards per game right now with 6 TD's (1.5 per game) on a gimpy ankle. Why do you predict such a huge decline for him?

He'll simmer down. He's not going to end up w/ 20 TD's. He's never been a big yardage guy with the Giants, and I've got to imagine he'll reaggravate the injury a handful of times before the year is out. My .02. I may have been a little low on the yardage (I'll say 55-60/game), but I think 13 TD's is right.
