Titans have locked up the 1st round bye (1 Viewer)

With the Titans securing the 1st round bye and division title, how will this affect Chris Johnson and Fatdale White? Will Fisher continue to play his starters or will he rest them? I would think this week they would play the entire game, but next week and week 17 I wouldn't be so sure. Any homers know? Has Fisher said anything about this?

How can they have it locked up? Suppose the Steelers win next week, and then beat the Titans? Then even if the Titans win next week, don't they have to win in week 17 to secure the #1 seed? That's my understanding.

Unless Pit loses next week and Ten wins, the starters will need to play at least thru week 16 to assure home field throughout the playoffs.

They stated last night that Ten has already secured the 1st round bye. Nobody else saw this? Collinsworth and company were doing the playoff scenarios at halftime of the Ravens/Redskins game.

It doesn't mean they have the 1 seed clinched. If both win next week, and then Pitt beats Tenn in week 16, Tenn needs to win week 17 to secure the 1 seed (or hope Pitt loses week 17).

They still need to play for the #1 seed and home field advantage throughout the playoffs. I doubt they want to go into Pittsburgh for the AFC championship game.

The NFL will make sure this happens. Any close call will as always go in Pit's favor

1st round bye != top seed/home field advantage

2 teams receive 1st round byes in each conference. TEN has yet to secure AFC Conference Championship Game host.

What about the gifts the Colts received from the refs against Pitts in 2005? As a Colts fan it pains me to say that, especially since we still couldn't beat the Steelers with all the bad calls going against them.

OP said 1st round bye...which they did secure. He said nothing about #1 seed.

Ok... so that means nothing because the Titans want the #1 seed to secure home field. It has no implications on the Titans offense until they clinch that seed.

Don't mind him. Anything he posts is clouded by his hatred towards the Steelers.
