Titans QB: 2011 and beyond (1 Viewer)

sorry to start a new thread on the topic but i wanted a thread with no Vince Young discussion and whether the Titans were right/wrong/whatever on him or where he might end up because i don't care as long it was one of the other 31 teams and now we have that

so i started to make this a poll but just simply WAY too many possibilities

who do you think it will be and why?

Is is a lock Vince Young will be gone??

ETA - assuming he's gone, Collins will be next season's starter. I'm guessing you'll go with Mallet.

for some reason i just see Orton bridging the gap to a 2012 or 2013 QB draft pick

but i wouldn't give a second because it is an early second

maybe a 3rd and 5th for Orton, would that get it done Denver?

although i am intrigued by Gabbert so maybe even an Orton to Gabbert bridge but what round will you have to use to get Gabbert?

Cam Newton is a wildcard but they'd have to kill Fisher first I think as it would remind him too much of the former guy (but i do thin Newton is alot better)

I don't like Mallet...and maybe Im basing it on one game...but he looked terrible in the face of any pressure.

I like Gabbart and I am in support of the Orton idea for a few years. Could hold you off on picking up a QB for a year or two to focus on drafting defense (take a later flier on a QB and hope it turns out in a few years).

See, as an Ohio State fan, I was REALLY impressed with Mallet in the Sugar Bowl. He had a good 5 or 6 beautiful passes that were just dropped.

If even 1 or 2 of those drops were catches, I think that OSU would have been on the losing end of that game.

I agree that he has the arm...but not sure he has it in his head either.Just other things about him getting so chippy any time he was hit or guys were getting off him on the ground. Just something about him that would worry me. That he could be a headcase.

Nobody is ever happy. If he DIDN'T get riled up some folk would complain he didn't show emotion/intensity.

Too early to say. If they keep Fisher, I think Collins will be the starter next year.

I believe they'll draft a first round QB and go from there.

If Collins retires, I could see Billy Volek being brought in as a 1-2 yr bridge to a younger starter, not necessarily a first rounder.

I think all of the organization recognizes a need to start developing a young QB, but I would argue the team is largely built to be a playoff team now -- hence they'll stick with a vet starter. Especially if Fisher is back and he's managing for his job.

Not saying he should be happy...it was just his reaction to when he was getting up or had someone on him...

Why do people keep calling Orton a "bridge"?
my definition is that a "bridge" quarterback is someone you get to get you to your next (or first) elite franchise QBsome teams bridge for years or decades
Gotcha.
and i forgot to add i dont think you compete for Super Bowls with bridges at QB so thus the reason they are bridges to get you to the other sideMcNair O'Donnell, Volek, VY, Collins ????????

(with the underlined being the bridge)
