To those debating Hixon this week (1 Viewer)

While on paper it looks good with the Cleveland D giving up solid points to wrs, keep in mind that Cleveland has given up tds to every wr1 they faced this year and none to wr2s. However, wr2s are averaging slightly more yards than the wr1s so he should be a decent play in performance leagues. I was close to starting him, but I'm going with other wrs who have better scoring chances.

This is a special situation. Hixon is acting in place of the #1. Also, there have been seven TDs spread between seven different people. #1, #2 or #3, it doesn't matter, the yards and TDs allowed have been plentiful.

week 2 they gave up tds to 3 different wrs

week 3 they gave up tds to 2 different wrs

week 4 they got abused by both smith and boldin

cruz often plays in the slot in 3 wr sets

classic overthinking

Looking at how teams are scoring on the Browns I just don't see Hixon scoring on anything other than a bomb or busted play. Rice averaged well under 3ypc in the Ravens game which forced them to go through the air just to move it down field. The Bengals D played terrible so even though the run game was working they still needed to throw a lot, also they scored on a bomb and a 50 yard busted play. I look into this stuff way too much for sure. Instead of continuing to type for its seen as nothing but over thinking I'll just throw out my projections and we can come back to it after the game to see what went wrong or right. Cruz scores, Randle gets a rz target, Hixon gets 60 yards and no rz targets. The Giants will win this one on the ground and with their defense and not have to throw a whole lot between the 20's. One player I see beating Hixon in points this week who most wouldn't agree with is Nate Washington.

Well, you've convinced yourself. Stay with your gut, I'll march out Hixon w/o regret. For your thought's, it will be over Boldin, Washington and Crabtree over 2 leagues.

Couple things to consider- No Joe Haden again this week, and TJ Ward, their leading tackler had thumb surgery this week and is playing with a cast that looks like a club. I think this also tilts in Hixon's favor.

Although I agree that Hixon is a very good start this week, I think all Giant receivers will have mediocre numbers. I can see NY running a lot in this game with a lead early and not need to air it out much in the 2nd half. I see a blow-out coming here.

Richardson will have a tough day!

How do you think they will get an early lead?

I actually think both Cruz and Hixon have huge games. They will both get a ton of snaps and virtually all the targets with the injuries to the Giants WRs.

:goodposting: I never understood this line of thinking. If one sees a blowout coming that means there will be lots of points scored. One could reasonably assume that some of those points will come through the air. Unless of course if you get credit in your league for points only scored in the second half then I would maybe sit Cruz and Hixon.

giants always play poorly at home. they have a bad defense so far. and they cant run the ball. dont overthink this

And they have a laundry list of injuries, that continue to pile up. Good chance Eli has to air it out for 4 quarters today.

This would have been more fun if you stated who you chose over Hixon.

Why does anybody own him, if not to start him in these kinds of games.........he may not be worthy of starting again in a few weeks.

I used my top ww for him and thought I loved this matchup. I had Bennett and Bradshaw as well so I really looked into this game hard. I cut Bennett for Fred Davis. I'm starting Bradshaw and malcom Floyd over hixon. The main reason I posted was because I really don't like his chances to score this week, not that he will have a bad game overall. I also have Nate Washington who I wanted to play but can't do it.

This will probably be the week Jerrel Jernigan blows up, just you watch.

Both Haden and Sheldon Brown are out.

Nicks and Barden are out.

If you're not going to start Hixon today, then when? I'm plugging him in over Hartline, for the record. Hopefully Eli finds him quite a few times.

You are not starting Hixon, you are starting a starting WR on the Giants, which have been extremely productive.

Even if he goes 4-40, I will have no regrets because he is a correct play.

I'm starting him as my flex over Antonio Brown (along with Chris Johnson and Jerome Simpson for that matter). It was a tough decision between him and Brown, but this is just an ideal situation for Hixon so I'm going with it.

starting hixon with confidence.
Absolutely. Starting him in 5 of 11 leagues because of bye week or injury to Nicks.Barden is out today too. Hixon going to get a lot of targets! CLE given up 2nd most points to WRs this year.Lock it up!!!

Well that's a little much. I'm not starting Hixon over Antonio Brown. But I am starting him with confidence as a top WR3 this week.

I'm also an Eagles fan, so with that being a tough decision, I avoided having to root for someone against my team. :) For the record, I have Brown in both my leagues and he's starting in the other one.

oof.. not off to a good start for that prediction.
