Tom Brady owners: What are you doing week 9? (1 Viewer)

Kaperneck.  Should have 80 yrds rushing.   It's a long shot, I know but our WWire is fresh out.

You've already had four weeks without Brady, you should have a backup plan in mind
Well, I had Stafford for those weeks but traded him for ware week 5.  Not many options but probably grabbing kap off waivers, expecting a decent game between passing and running.

Me too! Except I traded him for Hilton. Part of the reason I traded him when I did was because I realized the one week I would need him, he was @MIN.

Picked up Tannehill. I feel reasonably confident.

You should be fine, your other players will pick up the slack when they realize they are playing without him.

In the one league I have Brady, I have Roethlisberger. I am not sure he will play or not. Had everything all dandy until Ben got hurt. I'm looking at McCown if he's the starter or Foles if Smith is out. If Roethlisberger practices all week, sticking with him, but I don't believe he has practiced yet. Heck, I also thought about Keenum against my team (Carolina). All three have decent match ups.

Of those three, Foles is the only one who's definitely starting.

No way you can play Keenum at this point. Even if he starts, he's one pick away from getting benched.

Mariota was on WW. Great bye week fill in. I never carry 2 QBs in 10 team leagues. I had Stafford for 4 weeks and actually dropped him when Brady came back.

Stafford against Minnesota. My team is rolling so I'll take the average day.

If I were to do something...it'd be Kaepernick.

A lotta guys in my league horde QBs so I'm down to Kaep, Tanne or Siemian.

Going with Kaep for the rushing possibilities.

Agreed.  I guess you could say I'm rolling with Stafford in the contest, but I really don't remember why i took him with brady, I was thinking Mariota at one point.

You took him for weeks 1-4.

Plus it wasnt known that the vikes were gonna be lights out preseason was it?

I think that was it, weeks 1-4 looked good.  I liked the Vikings preseason enough to predict them to the NFC championship game (before bridge was out)

I grabbed Foles in both leagues. I'll be monitoring the news. If Smith is out out, then Foles is the best play (if I'm not confident in Roethlisberger). I agree that the Brown and Ram situation is rife for disaster. In the one league with just Roethlisberger, my picks have been terrible. Kessler starts, gets concussion, Osweiler starts well but does nothing since they had lead, etc. I just want Ben to get back healthy. The waiver wire QBs are awful this year and Cutler comes back to a bye week too.

Starting Kaepernick vs NO with confidence. Interested to see what SF game plan coming out of a bye.
With confidence?

I'm considering and not with confidence. There's always risk Gabbert is inserted if he's awful.

Everyone banking on Kaepernick rushing for 60-80 yards as well. Don't think this is money in the bank.

A game of catchup with NO enticing, but SF also allows the most plays so NO could just hang onto the ball.

I'm considering Kaepernick along with Siemian (@OAK), M. Mariota (@SD). and S. Bradford (DET).

picked up Kap as a hope and pray  :fishing:

Colin Kaepernick vs. Saints: From one unmitigated disaster of a quarterback in Keenum above to another here in Kaepernick. Like Keenum, Kaepernick will be playing at a home against one of the league’s absolute worst pass defenses. Unlike Keenum, Kaepernick at least has a floor to fall back on with his rushing ability. In his two starts, Kaepernick has rushed eight and nine times for 66 and 84 yards. That’s 6.6 and 8.4 fantasy points right there without even counting any passing stats. Kaepernick managed the QB14 finish in Week 6 at the Bills before finishing as QB16 at home against the Bucs in Week 7. New Orleans has started to tighten up a bit on defense, but I’m not ready to consider things all well. The Saints are still 28th in both pass- and run-defense DVOA and 20th in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. They’ve gotten back-to-back softies in Weeks 7 and 8, facing Alex Smith and a broken Russell Wilson. Pegging Wilson as surefire QB1 play last week against New Orleans was a colossal mistake, but we’re looking forward. New Orleans is 29th in passing yards allowed per game at 286.7. Kaepernick has failed to reach 200 yards in either of his two starts, but Week 9 might be his best chance of the season. In a week with Tom Brady, Andy Dalton, Kirk Cousins, and Carson Palmer on bye, getting 200 yards and one touchdown through the air plus 70 yards rushing from Kaepernick would put Kaepernick squarely in the QB1 mix.

He missed half the season so it's not like this is new ground.

What is challenging for me is every team I own Brady is a Gostowski team and most of those teams don't carry a second QB so creating room for two extra rosters spots in a massive bye week is the part I found difficult in some leagues.

Mariotta in the one dynasty league I have Brady. He threw up some clankers when I needed him early and got on a roll when I no longer needed him.

Matt Ryan is the one redraft QB I kept on a Brady team. I started him over Brady last week, cost me a win, hoping for better this week but he's obviously a strong start this week.

In two other leagues picked up Kaepernick and Foles.

Foles is only one of those options I just don't like at all this week but only one I love is Ryan.

Same here. Drafted Stafford and starting him over the WW options (Kaepernick, Bradford, Flacco, Tannehill)

Pretty sure Smith is officially out.

I don't own Brady, but I'm a Carr owner.  With him facing Denver this week and on a bye next, I picked up Foles.  Smith is still on the WW if he plays next week.  Not much else outside of Siemian, McKown/Kessler, Kaep, and Fitz.  He was the best option.

I am going to play Brady, he is the best QB ever, his stats are outrageous and he will probably get me at least a dozen points...

Blake Bortles, lol. Someone picked up Dak so I was going to pickup Kaep but I don't have much confidence in him either. This will be a fun week...

   Thanks Colin!  You'll never start for me again, but it was fun while it lasted!

Well, the best thing I can say about Tannehill is that he didn't cost me my matchup. Dropped him already to make sure his stink didn't spread to the rest of my roster.

Now I know how Belichick felt in Week 5.
