Tom Brady will never join Montana and Bradshaw... (1 Viewer)

Hurting more is simply a great way to show that it's a better situation.
Agreed but I believe Bradshaw when he says that he is most proud of never losing a Super Bowl. There is no question in my mind that he would rather have his 4-0 record than 4-1.

I think people are underestimating the fact that Bradshaw called his own plays. The guy was basically a QB/OC. Not suggesting he's the best all-time, but I do think he's in the conversation.
This is a great point, Bradshaw did call ALOT of his own plays which should count for alot...but the only problem on these boards are that there are people that have opinions about players they never saw play or just saw sparingly because they werent that old at the time to remember alot...Bradshaw belongs in any conversation with the best ever...if he played today the guy would be a monster with the physical skills he had and a cannon for an arm.I believe he held either the national high school or college record for distance in the javelin which would be proof of how strong of an arm he actually had.

True. I do think this puts Montana comfortably back in the "Best QB Ever" driver's seat. But let's not pretend Bradshaw was in the conversation regardless of how tonight's game turned out.
This is ridiculous to me. Even Montana couldn't have pulled this game out against that pass rush.
You don't think the teams Montana beat came at him with everything they had! If you ever watched Montana- his movement and escapability were some of his biggest assets.. Even his rushing stats in playoff/Super Bowls is very good... He was well equipped to avoid that type of rush
Montana was clearly a lot more mobile than Brady, there shouldn't be a lot of debate about that. There are clearly better regular season QB's than Montana, especially statistically, but his greatness was derived from what he did in the playoffs. Brady throwing 50 TDs and then having a medicore postseason doesn't do anything to chip away at the heart of Montana's legacy.
This reminds me of someone... can't remember his name. Always called a choker in big games.
Bill Buckner?

brady obviously didn't have a great game, but i don't view him any less than i did 24 hours ago.

he won 3 SBs before he turned 27. he didn't have a great game yesterday, but he didn't have a bad one either.

he was under ridiculous pressure the entire game. still, he never threw a pick, and calmly and resiliently led them down the field for the go ahead TD with 2 min. to play.

had eli/tyree not made that play, brady would be a hero today.

had asante samuel brought the INT down, brady would be a hero today.

the list could go on.

brady certainly could've made better throws on some of those deep balls, but what he did should've been enough to win the game, again, despite horrendous play by the o-line.

brady is still going to be considered an all-time great when he retires. i refuse to consider the "never lost a SB" factor when considering great QBs. keep in mind, the QB that is in essentially everyone's top 3 lost 3 SBs and never won 3.

Great point. And for those espousing Brady to the HOF...he is a product of Belicheat's system that throws the ball 80% of the time. Brady is good, maybe, MAYBE even HOF material, but he was exposed tonight. He will NOT be mentioned in the same class with Bradshaw who NEVER lost a Super Bowl. Period.
 you do know that this year was just a little different than previous years.....
