Tom Nalen to undergo more knee surgery (1 Viewer)

Tom Nalen, a five-time Pro Bowler and the Broncos' starting center since Mike Shanahan's first game as head coach in 1995, will undergo arthroscopic surgery Friday on his troublesome left knee, his second such procedure in 2 1/2 months.

At least the Broncos have a quality center behind Nalen in Casey Wiegmann, a nine-year starter for Chicago (1998, 2000) and Kansas City (2001-07).
Is Wiegmann a solid replacement for Nalen? Does this hurt Cutler and/or the runningbacks?

Kinda hard to say since they are still holding out hope that he Nalen will be ready for the opener.

There is another site that is suggesting that at 37, it may end his career. I guess this is a wait and see situation. Thanks!

At 37, anything is possible. It is supposed to be just a scope to clean up the knee a little. That in itself wouldn't end his career, but if they find anything bad while they are operating then that could possibly do it. Too early to say at this point.
