Thanks Cecil. Is it fair to assume with B Marshall out this week that Scheffler sees maybe 8-10 targets? Another quick one, is he used/targeted at all in Red-Zone formations or is Graham typically in for those?
10 targets may be a little much. I have seen this team practice with Brandon Marshall, not without him - so who knows how the targets are going to be spread around. Graham is the goalline TE, especially due to play action. If I was a defender and saw Scheffler lined up tight I would think "sack" or "pass"
tony could line up wide in the red zone and see some targets that way.With the Raiders cornerbacks I think we'll see a couple of deep shots to Eddie Royal, but for the most part they'll work the underneath/crossing routes and get some screen/swing passes in with Selvin. I am interested as a Scheffler owner, but I think the only thing we can do at this point is wait and see.Scheffler wasn't expected to be #1 on the depth chart. Last year he was #2, and he's not going to beat out Graham. Graham is a good blocker, while Scheffler is the pass catching TE. Cecil, thanks for the insight.Scheffler's promotion on the depth chart was promising, bit it's tough to figure out with Shanny. Does he think of it by position on the depth chart, or does he have specific personnel for each formation he wants to use?
