Without giving out too much premium information, I was looking at Dodds' Top 250 forward, and I'm not sure I agree with these three guys. Suffice it to say that Stallworth was ranked the highest of the three, with Santana somewhere lower than him, and Edwards after Moss. If these are based purely on their YTD stats, I might agree (although Edwards stats are similar to Moss, except he has scored and Moss hasn't). However, going forward, I feel that Santana should definitely be ranked below the other two, and possibly that Edwards should be ranked the highest of the three.
Stallworth: PROS-Playing with the best QB of the three, on a passing oriented offense, #1 WR on his team, targeted 9 and 11 times in his 2 games.
CONS-Very new to the offensive system, has a history of hamstring injuries (which has already flared up), Philly has a history of NOT producing #1 FF WRs (with the exception of T.O. in 2004) since McNabb isn't hesitant to spread the ball around.
Moss: PROS-The most established of the 3 WRs, with 2 seasons of over 1000 yards and 9 TDs, #1 WR on his team, and Wash appears to have a fairly easy schedule against the pass the rest of the year.
CONS-Washington's offense is struggling (never mind the game against Houston) AND appears to be a run-first offense this year, his QB is BAD (I know that he completed a record 22 straight passes against Houston, but I watched the game, and Brunell rarely looked more than 10 yards downfield and most passes were screens or dump-offs), he hasn't been targeted more than 6 times in a game this year.
Edwards: PROS-The biggest of the 3 WRs, on a bad team that should have to throw a lot this year, was a high draft pick because of his tremendous potential, appears to have recovered from his injury.
CONS-Tore his ACL just 10 months ago, and had surgery just 9 months ago; conventional wisdom says it takes 2 years to recover from this injury, plays for Cleveland, has Charlie Frye (very unproven) throwing the ball to him, plays the Ravens twice (once more in 2006) and the Steelers twice each year.
While Edwards recovery appears to be very successful, he is not supposed to be fully recovered this soon. Also, while Stallworth has had 2 good games, his long history of hamstring issues worries me. I find it very hard to get too excited about Moss based on what I have seen from Washington this year (& I am a diehard Skins fan). When I consider all of that, I find myself forced to rank Stallworth 1st, Edwards 2nd, and Moss 3rd for 2006. For dynasty reasons, I would put Edwards 1st, Stallworth 2nd, and Moss 3rd.
Thoughts?
