And Patriots beat Indy in Indy. Why the early crowning? As far as I'm concerned Indy is still #1. They are the defending champions. Did I miss something? Until they are dethroned they are the top dog.Indy SteelersPatsDallasGBRecord is not always the sole indicator.

OK, I'll bite. They WERE #1 last year. This is a new season, new players, new title on the line. Indy's title is theirs forever, but it means zilch this year. I have them 3rd overall. NE (on the strength of beating both Dallas and INdy, and 7 others, and not losing yet). Pitt (Looking dominant on D, and Ben is looking might efficient.I'll overlook the loss to Denver))Indy (Two in a row? To NE anda team NE shellacked? Just a bad game.)Dallas (seem to me to be a cut above the rest of the NFC)GB (was that s semblance of a running game?)TN/ J'Ville, Cleveland, NY Giants. REally, Lions, and maybe the Bills and Skins. These are the contenders, though all are a notch below the upper tier. There are going to be some bad NFC teams in the playoffs. What's the line on a team below .500 getting in?As far as I'm concerned Indy is still #1. They are the defending champions. Did I miss something? Until they are dethroned they are the top dog.Indy SteelersPatsDallasGBRecord is not always the sole indicator.
Using that logic, the Patriots could go undefeated, win the Superbowl, and still be rated less than the #1 team in the league - they might not be the best even though they have no losses! As far as I'm concerned Indy is still #1. They are the defending champions. Did I miss something? Until they are dethroned they are the top dog.

Nice job assembling this list. But it really doesn't entirely reflect how good the teams really are (and I am not saying that you said it does). Lets not forget that NE has been running up the scores. And is it really better to win 14-7 than it is to win 31-24? I would rank the teams as follows:NEDALGBINDPITThough in the end I expect Brett Favre to gloriously carry the Packers to the Superbowl on his broad shoulders where they will get blown out by those snakes from New England. Not including the MNF game, here are the Week 10 rankings in % of points scored per game (that means Points For divided by (Points For + Points Against).NE 70.7PIT 66.8IND 64.0GBP 61.6DAL 60.3SEA 54.2TEN 53.9NYG 53.7SDC 53.4TBB 53.2JAX 52.7PHI 51.2DET 50.6CLE 49.1ARI 49.1WAS 47.8NOS 47.5HOU 47.3MIN 46.9CIN 46.6CHI 46.3BUF 46.2CAR 45.3OAK 44.9KCC 43.8BAL 43.7ATL 42.6NYJ 41.1MIA 40.6DEN 39.1SFO 35.9STL 35.4
To give a serious answer to your question: there is no quantitative evidence to suggest Dallas is better than Green Bay- but Dallas' offense just seems more high-octane. You expect the Cowboys to score 30 pts a game as they did yesterday, and to win decisively most weeks. Green Bay has done a lot more eaking out victories, especially early in the year. Probably this is not a fair analysis, but I'm betting that's why Dallas is ranked higher. If you saw my OP, I have Green Bay, Dallas, and Pittsburgh tied behind the top two. I certainly can't choose between them...Ok, somebody....anybody explain to me how Dallas is better than Green Bay. 90% of the postings state this. Why? I'm all ears because I just don't see it.
I don't, either. My top 5 is:1. NE2. Indy3. Pitt4. GB5. DalAlso, those that are saying that Romo is better than Roethlisberger are crazy.Ok, somebody....anybody explain to me how Dallas is better than Green Bay. 90% of the postings state this. Why? I'm all ears because I just don't see it.
Yes you missed two loses! And the Bears should be #1 in the NFC until they are dethroned. As far as I'm concerned Indy is still #1. They are the defending champions. Did I miss something? Until they are dethroned they are the top dog.Indy SteelersPatsDallasGBRecord is not always the sole indicator.
They won't.I sure hope Dallas overlooks Green Bay like most in here do. Brett is playing like he did back in the MVP seasons. Grant just tore up the 2nd ranked run defense. They are deep and very good at wideout with Driver, Jennings, Robinson, Jones, and Martin. Their offensive line excels at pass blocking.Their defensive front seven as in the top 5 in the league and is deep along the line. They boast two very good bump corners. They have a big legged kicker with cold weather experience. They have a very strong legged punter and good coverage team. The only thing they really lack is an explosive return game. I am wondering how long until Koren earns that job.I am having trouble finding a weakness after today's rout of the Vikings vaunted defense.
