At the risk of not answering your direct question, I think the most important response is that unless you play in a league with an unusual scoring system that significantly overweights QBs, you shouldn't even be asking this question because you shouldn't be the one to draft the first QB off the board. Drafting either Brady or Brees in the first two rounds will likely hurt your team.

i tend to agree with you, but i think it also depends on the scoring system.... 6 pts/TD -> Brady20yards/point -> Breesboth -> Brady4 pts and 25 yards -> neither, and you are certainly correctI just finished a mock to see what would happen if i went Moss-Brady in rounds 1 and 2 from the 10 out of 12. Here's what i got:Brady, GarrardRonnie Brown, Kevin Smith, Benson, Leon Washington, Michael BushMoss, Santana Moss, Driver, Harvin, Josh MorganTony Gonzalezclearly this team is weakest at RB3 and WR2, although i got some good depth at RB4,5 and WR3,4,5. i think it shows that if you go QB early don't also go TE early (but gonzo was a great value in the 6th). instead of gonzalez i could have had: addai, rice, felix, dbrown, jstewart, or moreno as a RB3 instead of Benson. i've always been a late-QB guy, but if Brady is going to throw 35+ TDs this year i think he's worth a 1st or 2nd round pick depending on scoring.
Brady performed in week 1 of the preseason. Seemed to me he looked OK (directing what is the best offense in football with a relentless coach who has a chip on his shoulder).
Brady is # 1. And I had Brees last year. He was very good. But he's no Tom Brady.
