Toys from your childhood (1 Viewer)

my favorite was the Green Machine. It was a big wheel on steroids. If I ever found one, I would buy it in a flash

My favorite was Koby925's Home Doctor kit

Oh and the the gun thingie that shot nerflike bullets at people. May have even been nerf. That ruled.

Green Machine... this it ?
nope. that is the new version. The old one had 4 wheels.
I don't recall 4 wheels on any that the neighbor kids had. Link?
I have never been able to find one since the internet came out. I suck at searching, but I dont think they exist anymore.

There is a a cool vintage toy store about 30 minutes from where I live called The toys that time forgot. I have been there a couple of times and they have most of the toys in this thread.

Micronauts. They were popular at the time, and someone's got a webpage dedicated to them ... but you don't hear jack about them in popular culture anymore. Hadn't hear anything about Micronauts since the early-80s, really.

On that link, just below the navigation bar are pictures of two of the magnetic-jointed, mix-and-match missle-shooting dudes. Those guys couldn't pass inspection today with all the small shooting parts, but they were great fun.

Zamboni, the Evel Knievel that everyone had was the EK on the bike with the white wind-up launcher and the black plastic ramp. The set with the red van was different, and rarer.

Gotcha. I couldn't open the link and assumed it was the ramp thing. My sister had Evel's ho' sidekick Dare Devil Debbie.

I'll try to find pictures of them later or a link to the TV show - nobody I know now seems to remember M.A.S.K.. (or maybe that's not what they were called?). They all had masks :wall: that shot lazers, etc.. and I think their vehiles changed a little too. Maybe I am making this crap up, as I am the only person I know that read The 3 Investigators and not The Hardy Boys. :suds:

:penalty: found a LINK - I am not insane after all....

3 investigators rocked! I read all of those books about 10 times each! Never read The Hardy Boys

I love going through Ebay and checking out all the old toys that I use to have. So post some of your favorite toys you had as a kid but not that standard stuff, ya know GI Joe, Transformers, etc. Ohh please post links to pics of them as well.

Couple of my all time favorites

Shogun Warriors
:penalty: I had Mazinga, a friend had both Dragun and Gaiking. I later had Godzilla with the fire tongue and rocket wrist. I had one of the older Mazingas that actually shot the missiles (the later ones didn't shoot them due to safety reasons).

Oh how I loved these things. I remember them being just gigantic as a kid, weren't they like 3 feet tall or something like that?

My favorite toy when I was little (7/8 and under or so) was a martian landing set. It had a plastic "landscape" tarp, plastic mountains, astronauts, and martians.

Unfortunately, I can't get it on Google because some ######## Norwegian band called "Toy" decided to name one of their songs "Martian Landing Set." Bastards.

In that same realm, the Tracer gun.
Nice. Was the other one nerf? The other thing I remember were those rubber guys with suction cups. You'd throw them on the wall or something and they would hang there and dangle and eventually make their way down the wall. I would plant those in places I knew it would scare the #### out of my poor mom. Good times.

They probably were about 2 feet tall, which is still really tall for a toy robot.I had these in the mid-70s. In the late 70s/early 80s, there was a cartoon/anime series in the Boston area that brought most of these Shogun Warriors to life:

Force Five

I loved that show.

Wait, we had one game that you had to jump a marble up steps, carry it with a magnet, control it down some metal rails, etc. I think there were 4 or 5 stations to beat. I'm pretty sure it ended in 'tion' and I have ruled out aggravation and concentration so far.

It was not the tilting wooden board marble game either.

KP, I remember M.A.S.K., but not much of the details. Didn't they do some G.I. Joe/M.A.S.K. crossover episodes, or am I hallucinating that?

...

Here's one of the main Micronauts guys I was talking about, called Force Commander. They had a bunch of guys that operated like Force Commander, in a bunch of different colors. You could get mix-and-match horses and vehicles for these characters to make them centaurs or rolling cyborgs. :jawdrop:

For those wondering, there were also smaller Micronauts figures that didn't launch missles or anything. They were roughly the size of Star Wars figures. The Micronauts line has a slew of vehicles for the small guys to ride in, including a very cool "flying" mechanized hornet (looking for pic).
