Trade aj green for wentz/Gabriel, picks involved. (1 Viewer)

2 QB full point ppr, must keep 2 the following season. Can't keep first rounders. So I wouldn't be able to keep green anyways. Wentz was drafted in the 15th if I accepted this trade he would cost me a 14th next season. (If kept)

With that all being said. Due to bad trades last year I lost a few important draft picks this season. And my resulting team is god awful as I sit 1-5 for the season.

Trade offered to me this morning...

incoming players

T. Gabriel

C. Wentz

4th round pick

outgoing

A.J. Green

7th round pick

I definitely think moving Green is something you should be looking into but I don't think this trade is anywhere close to good value.  I would throw Green out on the trade block and see what comes back.

For your current offer I would want a better WR in return and probably a better pick exchange as well.

agree 100%.  A contending team that needs a stud WR to push them to a title is your target market here.  Gotta believe you can get a better package in return than a 4th round pick.  Not knowing your league and their tendencies, I'm not guaranteeing you can get a better deal, but I would at least shop him freely to all owners and try to get something better.  If that's the best offer you get then so be it.  I also gotta think that in a league where you only keep 2 players, QBs aren't being kept unless they are Rodgers/Brady/Brees and they're semi-cheap.  You know your league better than me, but is Wentz as a 14th really going to be a keeper for you in a league where you only keep 2?

So picks are stingy in this league because no one wants to trade their 1st or 2nd when they can't keep any player drafted in the first and a player drafted in the second costs a 1st the following season. Weird rules the commish put in place to ensure quality players go back into the draft pool every year. I've been offered a 3rd straight up and the trade I listed above. Both those teams offering the trades are first and second place. And I'm dead last with no hopes of coming back into contention, it's pretty much just an attempt to look to next seasons draft. Wentz wouldn't be terrible value for a 14 in a 2qb league if he can continue to produce and improve. (IMO at least) but at least I have 3 other teams in the top 4 the year isn't a total loss.

Considering that information I think this is a pretty good trade. Wentz in the 14th would be good value in a 1QB league, in a 2QB league that would be game changing I think. His ADP this year was somewhere around the 11th iirc and I think he's improved that quite a bit. And that's single QB leagues. I think you're getting a ton of good value (Wentz's ADP + a 4th) that should help a lot towards being competitive next year. Plus you get to sit back and enjoy watching Wentz develop this year.

so you have the original offer including wentz, and now a new offer of a 3rd straight up for AJ Green?

Depends on who you have on your team that you'd plan on keeping.  I don't play in any two QB leagues so I can't say for certain, but in a league where you only get to keep 2 players, I'd guess that not many QBs are kept, like I said before.  If you have two decent keeper options, then take the 3rd for Green.   If you have no good options then take the wentz deal and that gives you a cheap keeper.

What is wrong with waiting a bit before pulling the trigger?  If you are strictly trading him as an improvement for next year with zero need for current year help then hold off for a bit.  The longer the season goes and people start needing wins to make the playoffs or get a better seed they price for an AJ Green will rise.   I think you can do better than the current offers by a significant margin if you wait a couple weeks.  People will panic and want to make a move to get a guy like Green.
