Trading down in the 1st round (1 Viewer)

What do you usually request for a trade down in the draft? I have never done it and I am terrible at valuing picks on the spot. After several mock drafts, I am drafting what I think is a strong team from the 7-8-9 slots in a 12 team league. If I get a draft pick from 4-6 I may consider trading down.

So do you swap 2nds to trade down, or what do you suggest?

redraft traded my #6 overall and my 6th round pick for #15 overall and the guys 4th round pick...

* TEAM A (me) gave up Year 2010 Draft Pick 1.09;Year 2010 Draft Pick 4.02;Year 2010 Draft Pick 6.02

* TEAM B gave up Year 2010 Draft Pick 2.06;Year 2010 Draft Pick 3.05;Year 2010 Draft Pick 5.05

In a serpentine redraft, if I trade down in X round I want to swap picks in round X+1 and X+3. If it is a big drop in the first round, I may want to swap in round X+5 as well. (Example, swap rounds 2, 3 and 5 or 1, 2, 4 and 6.)
