Trampoline for Daughter's 6th Bday (1 Viewer)

Trying to find something that won't break the bank, but is "Safe" - yes, I realize some say no trampoline is safe...but given that I will buy one...anyone have thoughts?

Worth spending a ton on it for basic jumping use by kids? no teenagers or adults.

Thanks!

Got one 3 years ago when my kids were 4 & 7. They still use it. 16 footer with that safety net around it. It has been great and I'd say they jump on it about 4 times a week for at least 30 minutes to an hour each time. Got the one at Academy for like 200. Put it together myself in about an hour or 2.

Our neighbor has had a couple trampolines but they are always getting damaged from the wind.

They look like crap too.

don't let your homeowners insurance know you have one of these....

seems like every neighbor on my street has one and I'm amazed no one's been hurt as there always seems to be 6-8 kids jumping on them at a time.

After much research, my wife determined this to be the safest one. http://www.jumpsport.com/JumpSport-Elite-Trampoline-Systems

I hired a backhoe and buried mine in-ground using these instructions... http://www.allthingsthrifty.com/2011/05/diy-inground-trampoline-instructions.html

A lot work, but worth it. Kids love it and still use it all the time. Finished project
Doesn't water pool underneath it, and therefor go foul after a couple of weeks? I love the idea (I did a "semi-bury), but would wonder about drainage.

Mine is at the edge of my yard and I have a drainage ditch/pipe that allows water to flow into the woods if necessary. In the instructions though, they just tell you to dig the hole deeper in the middle and fill with stones to allow drainage.

Most policies have trampolines excluded so it doesn't matter if he tells or not.

Then just lay a tarp on the ground and enjoy jumping on that...fun for all

Bought one last black Friday for my now 6 year old boy. Got a 16' with enclosure and he loves it. When weather allows he is on it 2-3 times a week for 45+ min. Yeah, its an eye sore and the grass underneath is dead but our playing together and physical activity is easily worth it.

Do kids really get hurt on these things
A couple of burns from not wearing socks and an unfortunate incident when dad/me didn't zip the enclosure and he jumping threw the opening but otherwise no.

If a bunch of kids are jumping on it, first check with parents, bumps and bruises are expected but they always go back out for more.
